Never said anything about VPP being slow or issues with it's performance. I'm suggesting that Intense was struggling with the implementation. It could be money, it could be their engineers, it could be Gwin.

Neko left and is making a high pivot bike horst link bike and intense are developing a similar design or so it seems. Simple and easy to engineer and make changes that are easy to quantify.

Man, How cool would it be to see Intense just come out with a line of high quality aluminum, Horst Pivot, made in Cali bikes? Bring them back to their roots. Ditch the carbon, get back to what made them great back in the day

TBH, if they do that, are they any different than a myriad of other brands that went Horst link as soon as the FSR patent ran out? Other than the history and the brand name.

ya man I agree. It's too bad they don't have the production capabilities anymore. Pretty sure they just have small prototyping capabilities right?

didn‘t intenses lead engineer die in an accident in 2020 or so? if a brand is in turmoil this can totally add to that.

Commencal will unveil the new version of the Supreme DH bike at the first world cup in Lourdes according my sources.

Not sure if they are going to release a full range or just one build (maybe with a top spec.).

Will RockShox also release their updated BoXXer at first round of the world cup series?

The Honda will always have a special place in my heart but this new Supreme is sexy af, and probably the fastest bike out there.
On a side note, the lack of coverage of this race from the media is sad. The entry list is mental. Check it out on the portuguese federation website if you haven't.

No more ENVE it would appear. Makes sense to me that they are opting for a different wheel manufacturer after the front wheel failure in West Virgina.

That ship has sailed years ago. Now Commencal, RAAW, LAST, Propain, Privateer, etc have taken over that market.

I honestly just hope they didn't go Mullet-only with the Supreme, like they did with the Meta SX. That was such a dumb move. Kinda disqualified the Meta SX from my list of new bike candidates for this year. Like, come on Commencal. It's 2022. Let the rider choose the wheels size they want. Others can do it, some even without having to have two dedicated frames.

I’m no engineer but I think there is 2 schools of thought regarding your last comment. I don’t know what the actual correct answer is regarding mixed wheels and frame cross over or ability to build a frame to accept either wheel size. It seems like it is basically pretty easy for a frame manufacturer to build a bike that can take a 27 or 29” rear wheel by having different rear axle blocks or dropouts (whatever you want to call that rear end/axle interface area) or for them to provide some type of link that corrects the rear end geo. But it seems like commencal is pretty unapologetic in their focus of pure performance. They claimed that they completely designed the mullet meta around the smaller rear wheel and that it takes a complete kinematic re-design to do it proper. I don’t know if that is the 100% truth but I can believe it. They have concluded that the mullet meta is a faster race bike so they wanted to design it to be optimized for that exact purpose.
