Is this Saint Charles, IA actually Iowa?!?! Does that mean the DH team, or some sponsor, base is in Iowa? How do you run a downHILL team in Iowa haha, I've been there and didn't see any hill. Just curious!

rumors are Primaflor-Mondraker XCO team will fold. Mondraker will put all the money in the DH basket the core of that team will ride/become Orbea (this rumor is werd cause Orbea already has its factory cross country official team...)

The clear best solution is to just make water-cooled capable calipers. Water gets cycled through by a pump driven by a little baby pulley wheel on the outside edge of the rotors.

I have the LH4s and been running them as a pretty heavy guy (93kg) for the past 4 months (including a trip to morzine). They've been rock solid and one of the easiest I've had to bleed. Pads last a long time and are cheap as well.

Interesting to hear about TRP opting out. Having owned most of these brakes (except the Shimanos, and have ridden those), I feel like a few of the brands do themselves a disservice with what brake kits they send out to reviewers for testing. The MT7s with HC3 levers look fancy and have lots of adjustments, but they lack leverage compared to their longer HCW aka Bruni lever. I owned the HC3 version but have ridden the HCW, and that dramatically reduces the lever resistance (increased leverage). Hayes sends out T4s which as you noted lack the tool-free reach adjust which...

i've run most of the brakes tested (not the maven) and absolutely love the test. my personal winner is the dominion, which i'm still running. (a4, ditch t4) i agree on the verdict. needed some days to get used to the light lever feel. once you're used, this brake feels absolutely save on slippery conditions as the light lever feel and modulation goes hand in hand. mix this with the aboslute braking power it's easy to switch between brake force through the front or rear. for example entering a slippery corner with lots of roots. great learning curve for modulating...

We have an 1100ft in .8 mile drop in typical SoCal garbage dirt here. It's relentless and you're squeezing for your life most of the way down to go slow enough to not die. I can tell you that with 220 rotors and Magura MT7s with the HC3 lever set to max power my hands were lobster claws by the bottom. To the point that it took a good 15 minutes before I could think of doing another drop. I used these for 3 years. I made the switch to Dominion A4s also with 220 rotors and while my hands...

Magura won, not a great outcome if it was a SHIMANO or SRAM advert.

Some real strange testing protocols, the main one being testing Hayes with semi-metallic, Shimano with resin and the rest with metallic. You'd think you'd go through all that trouble of using Brake-Ace to draw measurable comparisons you'd at the least run the same ballpark compound (Hayes even includes metallic pads in the box, Shimano metallic pads are easily had). Ideally you'd have just gotten a pair Galfer/Sinter/MTX pads for all brakes where possible. Not sure how the Hayes brakes gets a 7 for bleed procedure. It has literally the same bleed procedure as SRAM (to the point where I use...

The KTM spec leaks confirmed it's 12 speed but I have a feeling GRX 1x Di2 will be 13 speed. We will find out soon as the press launch is in Spain next week.

I think it's WBD that are behind these changes, rather than the UCI (although I guess you can hold them responsible for handing over the reins).

There was a similar concept from Pearl Izumi 20+ years ago, Greptile grip and bar tape that matched up to gloves using a 3M manufactured material on both items. When matched up between glove and grip they had a low power almost hook and loop feel to them that had extra grip but allowed the rider to reposition their hands if needed. Needless to say it was a commercial flop. Found some of the old tape on Ebay, has the story in the pics. https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Pearl-Izumi-gREPTILE-GRIP-Handlebar-3M-Tap…
