That rock roll is all new. The POV video of him eating rock face going to his left at Mach 10 should have been in there too so people can see just how much risk he's taking & how quick it can go wrong.

I always love looking at the faces of the people in the background in pictures like this.

Thanks for the follow-up re: Five Ten. I think they just need to be honest to consumers about how long these shoes will last. I expect at least 2 full seasons of 2ish per week use, if it's going to be less I would like them to make it clear. The Freerider Pro is awesome but one year is just not enough.

Thanks for sharing your experience. For reference, I get about 10-12 months of use out of my Freerider Pros, riding 4 times per week average - 90% of that is self-powered "enduro" riding, approx a 3-hour ride each outing. At that point, I have a couple of holes from pedal pins, but nothing...more

I very seldom comment on forums or respond to reviews but in this case I'm compelled.

Five Ten has NOT addressed the longevity issue. My freerider pros lasted ten months of riding twice a week on a trail bike before the soles were completely torn apart with big holes from the pedal pins. The...more

Sorry dude, no one wants ugly hiking shoe style for MTB... may as well wear a full face with pinner sunglasses, camelbak and a 661 Pressure Suit.

Some of us want a shoe that more closely resembles a skate shoe rather than a hiking/approach shoe. Aesthetics are highly subjective.

$150 for shoes that last around or less than a year of periodic weekly use is unacceptable.

I ride flats exclusively and have had about every version that 5.10 or even Intense made and they last less and less these days. My freeride pros have been the best fit and function but as other have...more

Anyone not happy with the lifespan of the Freerider Pro? I'm about 15 months into a pair and the sole is haggard with some holes starting to form. I'd say I average maybe 2 ride a week April-October and maybe 5 rides total November-March. Some of my days at Whistler Bike Park but I feel like I should be getting more use.

Yesh, Etnies has made some good stuff in the past, but they seem to be into bikes when it's trendy and out when it's not (just see their shifty track record with BMX as an example). Vans made a bike shoe too for a few years. Whoop whoop? I'd rather spend my $$...more

No disrespect for Grubby and Keene but if McMillan was at the top of the Specialized ranks this weekend it would be radical. The dude rides a bike like all of us wish we could.

EWS is going through a NORBA late 90's crisis, where each track tried to out do the next and ultimately removed the fun, became a test of balls---it seems anyway, from sitting in my living room

Great to hear Mitch's take on this kind of track. Yeah we all love to see the best in the world being challenged, but track design is going too far many times IMO.
Not a problem for most of us,but the enduro bike development is getting far from all-mountain and it's...more

Wow, I literally composed an email to CES organizers, Northstar and Erik Saunders about this exact thing. Stiks, I said the same thing about the late 90's Norba issues citing it as the beginning of the decline of DH in America. I'm glad Mitch spoke up, he knows the...more

I'll agree with you. Some of the pictures show it, and that muddy bridge looked sketchy AF (did they fix it mid race? Or was that practice footage, seems unfair to change the track)... but hard to tell in the videos the gnar factor.

probably more like Evil not paying PB for any coverage. The geo is still outdated... no sale.

Upvoted for truth. The seat tube angle is 10 years old. I have seen several guys running their seatposts backwards to get a decent riding posture.

That's the bikes actual weight. (Weight including rider). Don't know why people insist on weighing their bike only, that number has no real-world use.
