In general I agree but that storage under the downtube is unforgivable.

Why is that a such a bad thing? Specialized, Santa Cruz, Commencal (etc) do it all the time for their racers

That may be true, but I think it’s stupid, it looks like shit and probably adds a bunch of unnecessary weight. So I definitely wouldn’t buy one. It’s obviously necessary for ebikes, so it’s understandable for them though.

Putting my tin foil hat on: chunky downtubes are there for us to accept the looks of ebikes.. Tinfoil hat off.

Seb Stott of bike radar times noted in a podcast that he felt the zeb working better, smoother going through the travel, thinking it might be connected through less flex of the chassis and thus less bushing binding.

These have been around for ~20 years. http://hopey.org/ I had one back in the days of narrow bars, short reaches, and when 67 degrees was a slack DH head angle. Worked pretty well.

My question was that of a rhetorical. So, do we go back to rigid bikes with little wheels, road geometry, narrow bars and longs stems, just so we can all be proud of our technique? Or do we keep on heaping shit on everyone else because they chose a different size?

How does long reach make up for bad technique. If anything it makes it harder because you have to be more active and aggressive on the bike. So tired of this labelling of folk because of the size of bike/wheel/brand (etc) they ride.

Strive is supposed to be the most versatile bike in their lineup and shapeshifter is pretty much an integral part of this design, my friends who ride strive all use it! If you need more heavy hitting bike, canyon has you covered with other models...

Actually, the Shapeshifter isn't that useless. I used it a LOT on my first gen Strive. Short travel/high for climbing and flat, and long travel/low for plush downhill. It worked very well for me.
