On the Commencal front its bikes like these that will sit around forever. This came out December of 2022. By the time it was shipping transmission was pretty standard for GX builds. So this is a bike with an old drivetrain and a previous generation Ohlins fork. So you are getting a "new" bike with previous generation parts. I have to think this stuff is never going to move and every month it gets worse and worse. https://www.commencal.com/us/en/BT3MTRV5OHEU2.html

Without unions we wouldn't have the weekend. Don't know why kids earning good wages out of school would ever be a bad thing. I'm sure if there were better union protections for workers in the MTB industry, we'd see a lot of brands still kicking.

Posted a comment on the other site, but this statement is pretty shitty " If you placed an order before July 15th, please note that—due to legal regulations—it may be part of the restructuring process and will be reviewed individually." No, YT, you made the choice to prioritize short-term cash flow by screwing over customers. There are well-established legal options for protecting customer payments from becoming part of an insolvency estate. You could have used an escrow or trust account from the outset, structured payments to transfer only upon delivery, or at the very least paused sales and issued a...

According to people during Hardline Tazmania, that only happens to Pivots. Does that mean that - just perhaps - bikes that get ridden hard sometimes break?

When the poors started showing up to group rides in Rapha on last model year's bike, PNS and MAAP were standing by ready to rinse the REAL roadies with even more muted earth tone offerings.

Honestly their knee pads were so good if they focused more on practical apparel for MTB and less on rinsing roadies for everything they had, I feel like they could do very well. That said, I thought rinsing roadies for their last penny was a nearly recession-proof model. Kinda like a constant of the universe. Death, taxes, roadies overpaying for microscopic gains to their cycling experience... Need to grab another pair before they can't be found anymore.

I think Stark has fallen prey to what you describe at the end a a lot. Somehow he has garnered a vocal fan base that often doesn’t seem to have any long term knowledge of freeride mountain biking. Stark is a very talented, very solid rider. He is not, and has not ever been groundbreaking. Everything he does has to a large degree been done before. That doesn’t take away from him being good. He should still be sponsored and get supported, he is that level talent. But he also shouldn’t be heralded as some kind of game changing generational...
