This is the most mountain bike industry product ever. We are adding a tiny servo on the bottom of the dropper that limits insertion and also you have to charge it and pay $300 for it? For what to get ride of 2 feet of cable? Will the remote and electronics in the post be reliable? Maybe, will they be as reliable as a $2 shifter cable? No.

That's too bad. DH was one of the few places not totally falling to the Sram homogeneity machine.

Am I the only one here who has ever ridden toe clips? I feel old. I am old I guess. I used to ride my toe clip pedals in soccer cleats with rubber spikes for better foot retention. Nice and tight in the chunder on my fully rigid bike but soft enough to be able to rip them out when in need.

The immaculately honed skills of the French riders differs immensely from the wild flair of the British riders I mentioned . Thomas estaque and Hugo frixtalon are entertaining skillful riders who are completely different to Benoit, loic and loris and amaury. Those boys are elite racers who have have supercharged wild winning runs but they're not the guys who pull sick whips and doubles when they don't have to . Some of the most entertaining riders in the past ten years have been guys who weren't on the podium regularly and it will be a shame to not see them...

Blenki might not have had a WC result for a while but he’s winning at something. For better or worse the Warner Bros deal really feels like it’s ushering in the end of a classic era for DH.

Thanks for the kind words. Sincerely appreciated. I also wanted to thank everyone who has taken time to particpate in this thread. In a world full of internet dumpster fires, trolling, dunking and devolving online discussions, at minimum I've found the willingness of the collective to have a meaningful, fun, civil discussion to be worthwhile in and of itself, regardless of how right or wrong we all may be. I don't know much, but I know the more this happens, the better off it appears we all are. HNY everyone! Cheers and thanks!

Agreed with the others about it sounding like contaminated pads. What make and model of brake are they, how old, and when and what was the last service on em? IME 'cleaning' pads after a contamination is a recipe for irritation. Pads are porous by nature, and any fluid that gets on em will seep into them during use. Cleaning removes the surface layer (and maybe some embedded) contaminant, and once the pads warm up the contaminant flows out to the braking surface, making the brake garbage again. Avoid the pratfall and pony up for new pads. Rotors can be...
