3/28/2024 9:50am What a depressing set of comments today. Biking is a hobby, people can enjoy it as they wish. Get over yourselves and let people be happy. Complaints about other peoples opinions are not tech rumors.

3/28/2024 9:49am I don't want to stray too far from your point about loading forces as they are certainly a factor, but my factory built Bontranger Line Carbon 30 wheels were 28 J spoke and went just north of a season before they started breaking. I broke four spokes on the rear while pedaling and decided to rebuild both wheels with sapim race and brass nipples. The rebuilt wheels are now on their 3rd season post rebuild without issue and I believe it has more to do with the spoke and nipple choice than the spoke count.

Dogboy Added a reply to What are the hard truths of mountain bike fitting?
10/16/2023 11:41am I agree completely with the last paragraph. Mountain biking is so much more dynamic than road biking that hard/fast rules of fit really don't apply in the same way. In my experience, more people want to size up than down because they are either coming off of an older bike with a crazy long stem and trying to mimic that...

10/16/2023 11:32am I think there are a lot of similarities to road bike fitting in terms of the very basic question "should you choose the bigger size or the smaller size in the same bike?" I think the two big numbers are height and inseam length, which together determine how much leg you have projecting up and back from the pedals and how much torso you have reaching forward and down to your handlebars, i.e. where do your hips end up above your bottom bracket and how far forward can you reach. But those two numbers don't tell the whole fitting story...

10/11/2023 7:25am While it seems like every other company is trying its best to make their regular bikes and e-bikes as indistinguishable as possible, Lapierre said "Nah, F-that, let's make it looks like a Transformer!"

8/29/2023 5:37am As for the travel question, I guess the main change with a 150 fork would be head angle and BB height (140 shock travel comes from a spacer removal so it won’t affect geo beyond a little extra sag). Thing is, this bike is plenty slack for such a short travel fork…I really don’t think it needs more. My philosophy with short travel bikes is to enjoy them for what they are, and not try to get them to do too much of something they weren’t made for. And I really like what it does with the stock numbers…
