gonna play devil's advocate x1000 here about levo speeds with the explicit mention that i don't care if anyone anywhere buys one, i would NEVER buy one (who has nearly 5 figures to spend on a bicycle with or without a motor???), i'm painfully aware of the wrench this class 3 stuff throws into trail advocacy, i fully expect 87.69% of levo owners to be rallying illegally in class 3 and i fully expect downvotes to go skyhigh, but... i own a toyota yaris (maybe 97mph top speed). a mid-life-crisis guy in a neighborhood down the way owns a ferrari...

Two hard pills to swallow. Gwin really played all the wrong hands as it seems. I hope he leave whatever he's been up to and find a spot where he can finish on his own terms. He's one of the true greats and he deserves so much more. Ratboy. It's over before it even started.

When I raced BMX, flat petals were the only option. Then toe clips, but I was a low-key gravel biker before the term was invented. Riding my Specialized Rock-Combo on the fire roads near where I grew up. When I decided to buy my first serious mountain bike, I got CLIPLESS pedals because everyone else had them. I distinctly remember trying to slide my foot backwards after clipping in for the first time, and promptly hitting the concrete. Good times.

Am I the only one here who has ever ridden toe clips? I feel old. I am old I guess. I used to ride my toe clip pedals in soccer cleats with rubber spikes for better foot retention. Nice and tight in the chunder on my fully rigid bike but soft enough to be able to rip them out when in need.

Dan wouldn’t even be able to qualify for a final. Being a fast rider at your own bike park you ride everyday is completely different from racing world cups.

It's already happening in the comments... But unfortunately there is no possible, logical, fathomable way to convince people the judges know what they are doing when Zink wins last year and then TVS gets 4th this year. Meanwhile Godziek probably had the best overall and Rampage-esque run, both years, and didn't win. And then a big slope run from Semenuk can win any year. So, ultimately, if they want to say that which I believe they have ultimately... Then sure a big slope run is the future of Rampage and that's how you win. Copy Semenuk or lose to Semenuk...

Totally, I'm also skeptical of home burnishing wizards and how much of the Great Bushing Epidemic of 2024 is real vs. imagined for social media noise. Based on the video and the comments from Diaz, it seems like it wasn't a bushing issue, " Again NO BUSHING BURNISHING NEEDED OR WOULD HAVE EVEN HELPED." Seems like it was a misalignment in the actual casting or a mis-facing of the casting's axle interface that resulted in a twisting of the lowers when the axle was clamped. if it's been said already, sorry, i didn't read all the replies yet. by far, the easiest thing to do would be to have judging anonymous (like surfing and other sports) 7 judges, each with an anonymous score, highest and lowest thrown out. every judged can have access to replay. scores be damned, the whole week+ was an insane showcase of ludicrous bicycle riding.

Right or wrong, I think some of it comes down to the fact that nobody else on that hill could have done Brandon’s run. Meanwhile, Syzmon and Adolf had identical tricks on two of their biggest contributing features and three people flipped Price is Right. That being said, for the first time ever I’m not convinced they got the top three correct. But if they re-ordered them in any combination I think I’d say the same thing.
