Loic, Finn and Jordan dynamics aside, it's still wild to me that a company the size of Specialized doesn't have an elite woman on the elite downhill team.

Wasn't the Syndiacte in a similar situation with Peaty, Minnaar and Ratboy?

I think it’s important to remember in the tech rumors forum that we all have dope bikes, tailored specifically for where we ride, and that it’s never the same everywhere for everyone and that minion DHF is still the best tire ever always

should trousers always come in the same length and only with different widths at the waist?

I'm definitely in the slack head angle, long chainstays crowd for enduro bikes. But really pretty much every category of bike my tastes vary. But I'd argue geo on a well constructed frame is going to make a bigger factor in your riding experience than kinematics, suspension design, or even your choice of components besides your cockpit (which effects your bikes geo).

I ran an assegai max grip DD for years, but tried a kryptotal super soft DH last year and won’t be going back. I was experiencing so many front wheel washouts and the sensation of skating through corners with the assegai, and couldn’t believe how much more confidence inspiring the kryptotal feels. So much more trust in that tire due to its predictability.

Assegai is just kind of numb, works at all angles, but isn't the best at any of them. Not sure if it's the casing (feels different than previous maxxis dh casings), but I'm really liking the dh highroller 3 right now. Bites like a dhf in corners, but still conforms to off camber roots and such nicely.

brunch123 Liked a reply to forum topic Should You Reverse Your Stem? - Reece Wilson Setup Analysis

5/18/2026 2:12am
You can get to simmilar riding position with a fairly normal bike too. At least if you have moderately long chainstays. It is basically what Goldstone is doing. What reverse stem allows you to is running a looong wheelbase, which at least for DH is probably quite benefical, but you need a bike build for it. As someone who likes to ride very upright, but hates long bikes basically I just picked the bike with the shortest reach I feel comfortable running and longest chainstays I could get and it works fairly well. With short reach you only kinda run...

If you haven’t already, check out Vital’s latest PIT BITS for a quick overview of Reece’s particular setup. While there is a lot of interesting tech on Reece’s bike, one defining feature is the prototype raised reversed stem manufactured by Be More Bikes. Reece combines this stem with high rise bars to create a tall stack with reduced reach. This allows Reece to extend at the hips more, creating a tall, upright riding posture. However, doing this causes his center of mass to shift backward, disrupting the front-to-rear weight balance on the wheels. To counteract this and redistribute weight back...

I'd much rather fix a carbon bike with a damaged downtube than an aluminium bike with a crack. Between the two, my money would be on the carbon bike having the longer lifespan. Aluminium fatigue is a bitch.

Miss those days. Enduro was the hottest shit, clothes were semi baggy and not skin tight, no ebikes… ah yes, beautiful times.

I wrote this on Pinkbike but will crosspost here to as I firmly believe ABS should not be involved in WCDH. I'm all for innovation in DH and I am absolutely fine with electronics in suspension but I strongly believe that ABS has no place in competitive DH. Braking ability and threshold braking are massively important skill that do separate riders. Having a system that would theoretically allow a rider to just full pull brake but not lock the wheels would be a huge advantage on most tracks and certainly would for low grip tracks or conditions. Formula One as...
