It’s already started happening a bit but I think we’re going to see a big growth in “2 in 1” bikes like the new Orbea DH/Enduro bike. Bike companies can cut down on SKUs and tooling costs while marketing the hell out of the “multiple bikes in one” angle.

I believe the two "oldest" bikes on the market right now are S Enduro (2020) and Banshee Titan (2019) and they are both still perfectly relevant going into 2026... I'd say Titan became even more popular as the time went by which is pretty funny in modern times but I'd say there are more and more of us who dont really buy into latest trends of blingbling marginal gains and are perfectly happy with a simple, capable, reliable and affordable bike and Banshee ticks all of those.

Great spot. I've only seen photos of the carbon one under pro racers during WC races. This is the first out in the wild photo I've seen of the carbon production version. Did you get any other photos? I'm wondering about the rear mech . It looks like there is a shifter with cable coming out it beside the right hand brake lever. But the cranks are Transmission gen XO.. Correct. And it was my favorite not because it was the fastest bike or something haha The two years I rode that bike were some really good times racing. Not Mavens, but I'm using Lewis masters paired with Magura calipers. I'd been intrigued about eeking more power out of the stock LH4 I was initially using. The LH4 caliper uses 17 & 14 mm pistons, so I gained quite a bit with the quad 17 mm pistons in the Magura I was thinking about pairing them with a Cura 4 caliper or a Maven base caliper, but was unsure if the 18 mm pistons would mean I'd have too much lever throw before the pads would contact and didn't want to risk it. not really, we tested this years ago, whats more important is using blue Loctite and not relying on that rubbish that manufactures use thats not thick enough. you get considerably more effect from thread condition containing older loctite And grease etc - It's more of a 'grease on threads' thing than between the bearing surface and bolt head - dont over think it because when you go down that track, consider thread stretch and all that rubbish especially when Theyve been used alot. I cant remember The last time I had a bolt come loose from a bike I built.

I bought a couple packs of YT Capra cable grommets (they're kind of teardrop shaped) and install them everywhere that brake lines enter and exit my frame when the bike is brand new, before I bleed the rear brake. Kind of a pain, but worth it. SRAM hose bumpers where the front brake rests against the fork lower. I put a thin coat of marine-grade grease on saddle clamps and the top couple inches of the inside of the seat tube.
