Even after riding the very best enduro bikes from Yeti, Transition, and Santa Cruz, the Specialized Enduro remains highly competitive. The geometry and ride are still fantastic, with the long seat tube on the S3 size being the only real limitation, as it restricts dropper post travel to 170 mm.

Great spot. I've only seen photos of the carbon one under pro racers during WC races. This is the first out in the wild photo I've seen of the carbon production version. Did you get any other photos? I'm wondering about the rear mech . It looks like there is a shifter with cable coming out it beside the right hand brake lever. But the cranks are Transmission gen XO.. The rear mech looks kinda chunky... looks a bit like the chunky clutch shape on the Transmission mechs. We've all seen a DH version of wireless axs Transmission is coming...

Correct. And it was my favorite not because it was the fastest bike or something haha The two years I rode that bike were some really good times racing. I rode an alloy frame in 2013, and then a carbon frame in 2014. So when I was 17 and 18 yrs old. I think it was my favorite because it was the first bike I had where I started to understand setup and how to make a bike go faster. Thanks in part to being on Rich Houseman's and Gwin's development team for those years. The bike itself was super...

Hey everyone, I’m currently running an Öhlins RXF36 M.2 at 170mm with a Vorsprung Smashpot. I absolutely love how this fork feels — I’ve had 36s, Lyriks, and even Boxxers in the past, but the ride quality of the Öhlins is on another level for me. That said, I’ve started to notice a fair bit of flex in the lowers...

Hi everyone, I currently ride an Öhlins RXF36 M.2 (170mm) equipped with a Vorsprung Smashpot. I absolutely love how this fork feels—having previously ridden Fox 36s, Lyriks, and Boxxers, nothing comes close to the ride quality of the Öhlins. However, on rough enduro and DH tracks, I’m noticing a significant amount of flex in the lowers. To solve this, I’m...

Not Mavens, but I'm using Lewis masters paired with Magura calipers. I'd been intrigued about eeking more power out of the stock LH4 I was initially using. The LH4 caliper uses 17 & 14 mm pistons, so I gained quite a bit with the quad 17 mm pistons in the Magura I was thinking about pairing them with a Cura 4 caliper or a Maven base caliper, but was unsure if the 18 mm pistons would mean I'd have too much lever throw before the pads would contact and didn't want to risk it. Plus I found the Magura calipers...

Dammit reading that review of the Intend doesn't help curb the want for one. Would love to buy the stripped down Essential and drop iny Ohlins 36 air cart and TTX18 damper. Best of both worlds.

not really, we tested this years ago, whats more important is using blue Loctite and not relying on that rubbish that manufactures use thats not thick enough. you get considerably more effect from thread condition containing older loctite And grease etc - It's more of a 'grease on threads' thing than between the bearing surface and bolt head - dont over think it because when you go down that track, consider thread stretch and all that rubbish especially when Theyve been used alot. I cant remember The last time I had a bolt come loose from a bike I built.

I bought a couple packs of YT Capra cable grommets (they're kind of teardrop shaped) and install them everywhere that brake lines enter and exit my frame when the bike is brand new, before I bleed the rear brake. Kind of a pain, but worth it. SRAM hose bumpers where the front brake rests against the fork lower. I put a thin coat of marine-grade grease on saddle clamps and the top couple inches of the inside of the seat tube. Marine grease on the inside of bearing dust covers and the inside edge of bolt heads. I bought some...

Posts all over FB/reddit/pinkbike. with even more photos of the brakes/drivetrains/hubs. I will never believe in this whole removing posts because a brand cant keep their own sh1t a secret - especially in this case when Shimano Rep's have been telling everyone.

I forget if it was covered in the video, but were the wheels the same? Or at least very similar weights? (Excluding the 27.5 one obviously.) It's weird that the Assegai tested ~1% faster than the Kryptotal. I've ridden both a bunch, and the Assegai feels like it actively slows me down in straights, and the Kryptotal hums along nicely. There's one short bit of trail I ride a lot which is basically a flow line down a tight gully with a ramp out at the end. With the Assegai I always have to put a couple pedal strokes in...

I was hoping the new Demo/Enduro would also be similar with one front triangle and a link swap would convert from the DH bike to the enduro, but the new proto mule has killed that hope with the short seat tub setup.

From what I was told originally, he was interested in developing a complete fork. Steve said that the newer chassis out there are good enough to not make it worth their time to worry about a full package. It was about a year ago that he told me the fork cart was coming after the Tellum release, I've been patiently waiting ever since. I personally am not impressed with the charger 3 or the X2. I like my MRP V1 lift over both, and like my Ohlins TTX in the 38M2 over everything else.
