AFAIK chains don't actually stretch in any meaningful way, the rollers (and maybe the pins) wear allowing the rollers to sit off-center on the pins. The plates stay the same length.

I have a hunch these breaks are because electric derailleurs push harder than thumbs (I never broke a chain in this way with mechanical shifting). I imagine e-bikes are even more abusive than my puny wattage, e-bikes with electronic shifting might be a destructive combo.
I had this exact case on a GX Eagle chain in 2019. The only chain I broke in the last 20 years except for the one I used for 6 seasons on my primary bike when I was a broke student. Broke that one twice in two weeks, it was just gone.
watch the video. it's literally explained in detail.

Watched the video and I’m still unimpressed with the answer. Before posting here I read the other site’s article and didn’t like their answer either, especially after reading about chain slap being an issue.
My question was not about shimanos official line. I’m curious what we think about their decision, and if we believe their explanation (or if their explanation holds up.) I guess we won’t know until more people get o ride it.

I am aswell, we still have gx AXS kits available. Same tech, similar speed and a no clutch proper clutch setup BUT Quite a bit cheaper, Currently you can Get GX axs for half the price of the XTR kit - whats the benefit of XTR?
I Feel they've gone for the "LOOK we have fast shifting" even though Sram had the same kinda thing 5 years ago. I really like shimano drivetrains(other than the derailleurs breaking at the first blade of grass they hit)
I was expecting good things from shimano for their new Wireless drivetrain and new Brakes - But i've been quite disappointed in whats been released for both. -late to the party -lack of anything new -shifts fast but thats it??? brakes - still has their old feeling without wandering bite... - new lever has... interesting design? - caliper, new pad standard...(come on seriously???)
I hope XT comes with a clutch and Saint comes with a Proper new brake.
Otherwise i guess its carry on with supported brake brands like TRP, hope, sram(maven) hayes etc and the old reliable XT 12spd mechanical.
Now that mainstream Shimano hubs (previously HB-TC series hubs were also introduced with cartridge bearings, but they kind of stayed below the radar) are running on cartridge bearings would it be time to introduce Torque Cap adapters for the front hub?
I also expect that the XT and Deore series hubs will run on cartridge bearings. ?Given that SLX is doomed?
After all it is just a cylindrical parts made on a lathe with corresponding tolerance.
Also DT Swiss has a neat solution on using Torque Caps on Centerlock hubs, so that can not be a showstopper.

I think I remember hearing in a BK video that Renthal went through a rebranding so that's likely just new graphics
Ha, my Dad worked for one of the companies that first bought these into the UK back in the 1970's, I believe one of their first uses here was in aquariums (assuming it's a liquid crystal type).

Temperature stickers are not the reason I posted this pic 😉
So new XTR headlines are: no cables, no clutch and the wandering bite point might be resolved? Am the only one who was hoping for some more tangible upgrades?

It's funny that everyone is up in arms over no clutch on the new XTR.. From the video I watched, it sounds like they just went a different route to solve the chain slap issue by using 2 springs...

Is Vital gonna be getting The Push VTX or the new EXT Vecta in for review?
I’m trying to decide what to get to long-shock my sentinel and there seems to be quite a few new products that offer a custom tuned shock for only a little more than a Vivid/DHX2.

clutches were a band aid fix for chain slip/retention anyway - I'm not sure if this dual rate spring will be much better but I'm glad to see them trying something different
this: XTR Di2 E-MTB REAR DERAILLEUR LONG CAGE 11s LINKGLIDE?
I’m literally at work and unable to watch the video bruh
So, any of those on Jack's bike? I know he got a contract /w fox this year. Would be weird for him to jump ship just after two races.
Completely not important but I feel the need to say that the etching of the knobs is pleasant. Gives me some De Tomaso super car dashboard vibes.
The article says that a 11sp linkglide version is coming soon, so I hope that isn't it.
it was also in the article you can read
Something new dropping from Mahle

What part of i'm at work can't you understand, i only have time to post terrible comments
I guess this makes it pretty clear SLX is gone

Who’s broken one already?
That point would be valid if axs mechs didn’t have such a high breakage rate too.
A faster and tuneable shifting speed is a great USP. Especially as their HG+ chain and cassette design can cope with it.
Whereas Srams just cannot, hence why they've made Transmission so slow.
Why is fast precise shifting a bad thing all of a sudden?
How new can a derailiuer be anyway!!

"What is.... the brembo logo on the mount."
It appears very much like so, only no idea what the orientation of it is. Vertically oriented for fork mount?

Yeah I know, sorry, maybe I shouldn't have posted it, it was just interesting to me as I hadn't seen or considered them for this application before..
You wanted to talk about how far camera lenses have come in regards to chromatic aberration?

No more self destructing ceramic pistons too.
Looks like Production Privee is about to release a DH bike (not the CNCd one tho 🥲)
