3/21/2026 6:14am I'm here to defend (good) trail associations. I was the first Executive Director of Evergreen MTB Alliance in WA State in the early 00's and then on the exec committee of the board for another 10 years. We (both paid crews and volunteers) built tons of tech trails, and yeah a lot of flow trails and jump lines for the masses. I think a good balance between the styles. Behind the scenes we fought HARD to keep open the unsanctioned areas - areas I rode and may or may not have spent countless hours digging at
That fight wasn't...

3/21/2026 6:13am Re: IMBA (and other trail associations) besides them building almost exclusively flow trails, I find the biggest drawback is the mob mentality of people that take part. -Come in and gaslight local government into letting them be the judge jury and executioner regarding how the entire trail system will be built and managed moving forward. -Build exclusively flow. (Requires excavators) -Gaslight local government into requiring parking permits to support excavator trails people didn’t ask for. Parking used to free. -Extended and unnecessary trail closures whenever it even slightly rains. “It’ll ruin the flow berms bro, be a good trail steward...

11/5/2025 9:33am Great looking bike. Very short chainstays equating to a 1.9 f/r ratio in size large. That's moving in the opposite direction to where most bikes are headed lately. Medium looks good at 1.83 f/r though. The large and XL are going to be relegated to "arizona" bikes, where corners are slow, and the steps are large. Short chainstays are good there. Hopefully the updated insurgent/wreckoning have a better balance in the larger sizes.

11/5/2025 9:33am Will you consider a trade-in program for folks with nice 157 wheels? lol Seriously, bike looks good. My only question is if and when you'll have some available to demo in Bellingham or elsewhere?

11/5/2025 9:33am Copy and paste from the other thread: The New offering looks pretty dialed, and I did say in a previous post that I would probably get one if they went back to Boost. The increase in travel, both front and rear, isn’t a huge selling point for me. My local trails are fairly mellow and my daily driver for the last couple seasons has been a 150/135 mullet trail bike. Just small enough to enjoy my local trails and just big enough to handle rougher trails when I travel to real mountains. So that got me thinking about the new...

11/5/2025 9:32am S - 7.79lb / M - 7.87lb / L - 8.04lb / X - 8.18lb. That is with SuperDeluxe shock, headset cups, and all frame hardware. Worth noting that weight will vary from one frame to the next, although these are actual weights that were just taken in the warehouse.

11/5/2025 9:32am This is something that is very useful to know and I appreciate the companies that make it easy to access. A lot of people want to either upgrade the shock or bring over a high end damper they already own. So this makes it much easier to get that person set up properly if the bike company hasn't already supplied detailed settings and spring rates for that shock

11/3/2025 2:49pm It’s funny to me, because the very thing on that thread that people were lambasting YT and Canyon for is the thing that I find exciting: bikes that perform well and represent a good value proposition. Fancy magical linkages, outlier kinematics, adjustable geometry, bleeding edge race tech… overrated. Give me a bike with surprisingly good component specs that works well for its intended use case at a good price point. I’m getting a little turned on just typing that. EXCITING!

10/30/2025 11:08am FWIW, modern F1 cars have quite a bit of anti-dive geometry in the front and anti-squat geometry in the rear, preventing the car from pitching back and forth during braking and accelerating to keep the aero platform (the underbody) as stable as possible and thus the downforce as consistent as possible. The result of this is a lot less feedback to the driver (either way you cut it, any kind of movement or lean is a feedback on what the vehicle is doing) and some teams had and have a lot of problems with their drivers not being confident int...

10/30/2025 11:08am Check out the Preston Petty No-Dive, from decades ago folks: There were quite a few variations of Torque Arm Anti Dive set ups tried in Motorcycling - predominantly Road Racing, plus, a some hydraulic set ups - a few of which reached production Motorcycle models. I've a couple of Preston's No-Dives, somewhere in my workshop, along with a few of his Fenders / Mudguards and his Headlights. All of the Anti Dive systems basically 'disappeared'.

10/30/2025 11:07am I mean, everything seems reasonably priced to me Context is important Cranks are beautifully machined and 280€ A set of gx cranks around 100€ online, mass produced vs machined and hard anodized in Germany by a SMALL company, The shock is 1100, comes custom tuned, a Fox X2 blows and retails around the 800€ Same goes with the forks 1650€ for a flash with perfect bushings and all and it’s almost the same for a fox 38 x2, again mass produced in Asia vs something from a tiny company in Germany. Not cheap, but for what it is I’d say...

10/30/2025 11:07am I think that Cornelius has completely outclassed Fox in the Upsidedown fork space. Options, quality, weight, price, reliability, performance, etc. Intend wins on every aspect. What the Podium did for me, is make me really interested in the Intend...

10/30/2025 11:06am Reasonably priced… it’s Intend. Love their stuff, but none of it was reasonably priced so far. Even if the price is justified through production volume/company size etc. However, I am curious, too, what Cornelius came up with…
