5/22/2026 1:24am How does the battery size up relative to the Di2 batteries? Fox have had a reasonable kind of partnership with Shimano over the years, and every time I see a manufacturer use a new style/shape of battery instead of what isn’t there it decreases the likelihood I’ll use it.

5/19/2026 8:55am That's a lot going on to have a high single pivot bike with a MX style pull linkage. I guess when they announce more about the gearbox it might make more sense. I do like the look of it without the fairings.

5/17/2026 5:20am Surely not every bike fits everyone, but I do think people freak out over mere millemeters when the fact is - you can get used to just about anything. Its just fucking bikes. I've got an XL GT Fury with 515 reach & 70mm bars: best DH bike I've ever had in 20+ years... a 2019 YT capra with 480 reach and 50mm bars: super fun, still going strong. A size L 2023 Marin Alpine with 490 reach and 35mm...no 50mm... no 80mm bars. Super fun. I move around on these bikes, jump them all mercilessly and continue to get...

5/12/2026 10:49pm Long time lurker, first time poster here. For some background I’m an aerospace composites engineer and spent several years in Advanced Product Development with an emphasis on environmentally friendly materials. There’s so much to get into on this topic and if folks are interested I’d love to start a dedicated thread on materials and environmental impacts. The TLDR is, carbon fiber as a green product on its own is a fallacy. The raw fiber production may result in a certain level of carbon sequestering, but the process is still so energy intensive I wouldn’t call it an environmental positive. As...

5/12/2026 10:46pm You are already riding bikes with aerospace carbon fiber. The actual fiber is the same as what's used in aerospace. Example: Toray T1100 is the world's strongest fiber and used in both bikes and aero. T1200 coming and will be 10% stronger. What's different is mainly the resin and the process of making the bike. Note I could argue some of the bike parts I've seen are actually more complex and high performance than many aerospace manufacturers would/could make. It's impressive how far we've come in this industry.

4/17/2026 10:20pm I'm not their target customer, but I applaud using an existing mount standard. There are a lot of used eebs coming through, I'd like to see them repurposed rather than e-waste.

4/17/2026 8:10am Frameworks 32-Inch Testing Neko Mulally is racing a Frameworks with a 32" front wheel and 29" rear wheel for Sea Otter downhill. He says he's been riding a bit back at home and had to purchase the front tire online (1 of 2 that he could find). He's surprised by the traction but did indicate that if it broke free, it broke free without warning. He was able to cram in a 29" rear wheel despite the rear triangle being made for 27.5. His philosophy is that it's worth the experiment to figure out if there's something more to pursue...

3/8/2026 12:21am As he gets bigger / more aggressive, try out a 26" on the front. For a Mini / Mini Mullet. Going by the 'caliper to the screen' measurements and suspension geometry ( and your saying the original shock dimensions were said to give 178mm) , you've around 160 /161mm 'metal to metal' travel in the rear. Hey, this morning I grabbed off the wheel rack, an Wiiiide Sun 24" rimed rear wheel, with a 3" Gazzoloddi I used to run ( only ever got 1 puncture with that huge thing on the back, with a 26 x 2.8"Michelin on the...

10/31/2025 1:03am In my opinion it's just a regular Lapierre GLP3 without the plastic cover (probably for better cooling/heat dissipation) ? Vincent Ledieu is working for Michelin, I don't think he is involved in Lapierre bikes development.

10/31/2025 12:59am That, is something Entirely different to a brake torque arm. The Ribi Quadrilateral. Designed by Valentino Ribi in the 70s. So much more than a 'traditional' Leading Link front end! Tested - in part, - by Roger Decoster - He even did a few GPs on VRs original steel , twin shocked prototypes. RD, persuaded Honda to buy the design...

9/5/2025 4:29am Did not realize Bosch didn't allow 3rd party batteries. I'm all here for that. The more standardizing in eebs the better. It was not fun having an aging battery on my 2020 Norco Sight and wondering if I'd even be able to get a replacement. Would it be from Shimano? from Norco? What if I wanted another one 5 years down the trail? The custom battery made the bike feel disposable which is not a good look for any bike especially ebikes.

9/5/2025 4:27am I do not see how they jump from $13,000 to $20,000? Maxima's are $1500 a set. electringWings are $1000, Podium is $700 more than 38, the Hydra2 are no different in price than DT240 DEG. Sounds like they are charging full premium over the "base" S works Levo build. Kind of shady.
