This is the apex of course design in the US when we have 10-year-olds who can huck 15-foot blind drops and rail massive berms at speed, but who fall over sideways at the sight of a root or rock garden. This is the course we deserve for letting Gravity Logic and IMBA monopolize trail design ethos at lift-servixed parks.

Dafuq?! Any high speed grassy flat turn is more spectacular to see than this,at least for me. Mountain biking race courses should represent what the sport is about,and this has nothing to do with downhill.

As a life-long wood feature hater I am against this both on a principled basis and on a case specific basis, haha. Wood features are bad generally, and this wood feature looks especially bad. This is a WC downhill track, not a slopestyle course, and this feature looks downright dangerous at WC DH speeds (arm chair expert rant over). On a more positive note, quading this would be insane to see.

Quad god? Edit: It is at the top of the hill before you start gaining crazy speed into the finish. Probably still too much speed exiting the woods (triple) before coming into this feature. Seems like more time should be spent trying to get entry for all the privateers and media and not on a feature

Didn't we already go through this before with Rampage? Not sure who is asking for wood features on World Cup tracks but I'd be just as happy with a huge dirt double. Or maybe some whoops...

Sure. But Gwin, as team manager and owner should be aware of how the process works? Seems like the other teams got the info to their guys. The lack of communication between him and Neko on this, as teammates, is baffling.

Swingarm pivot and BB, are, of course, tubes, with plates either side connecting them. Bit of a 'USP' which is neat. It's a Falling rate rear end, for most of the travel, so needs an air shock or a multi rate spring on a coil over.

There's so, So much more with this shock than just the double seals with oil chamber between them at the main seal head area, that is highlighted here. It's not just a conventional shock - eg: a damper shaft unit with an air chamber in place of a coil spring, with the air chamber sealing against the damper body. Note the lack of said, conventional shaft. Note the bladder allowing for oil displacement ( in combination with what appears to be a IFP - this IFP, could be the actual main 'spring' component of the shock - shades of old...

If any of my 27"wheeled bikes have catastrophic failure, I have a fleet of older(26") complete bikes that I keep for nostalgia reasons to fall back on plus drawers full of spare parts and a rack of tires and wheels for all. I'm not worried about the bikes/parts, just my old body surviving the season at Northstar. I'm prepared.

Scotland is the most cautious in their approach to the pandemic in terms of the four nations, its not surprising they are still cautious about this! You also have to understand that the hospitals in the highlands are small and serve a huge area. You can't have a massive influx of people and expect their hospitals to cope with both injuries from the WC as well as the increase number of infections. Vaccine rollout is all well and good, but there are still many unknowns about the effectiveness of vaccine cover from mutated forms of the virus, especially from athletes/spectators...

The real issue here isn’t the squat, the rise, the geo or the tune::: It’s all the hammfisted fucks grabbing handfuls of brake on any bike, all the time, anywhere. Skids? Yes. Braking while riding tech in any way? No. It’s literally bad bike riding. I did it. It sucked. I stopped. It’s rad.

I had two Lefties. I replaced a TALAS 32 140mm with a Lefty Max Carbon with Fox RLC in 2010, and the first thing I noticed was the handlebar feedback from riding rocky terrain, where the wheel tracked between the rocks, which comes from the incredible torsional stiffness. When I upgraded a year later, I got a Yeti SB66 with a BOS Deville fork. And the first thing I noticed going from the Lefty to the Deville was the fore-aft stiffness, which was not desirable. Vital MTB / PB had a couple of stories / picture groups of 2 of his other frames. Brines and Eddie are right- this ain't a new problem at all.
