Yeah, Hardline is great but seeing it go this direction makes it feel like a sideshow to try and pull in clips views on social media. Shitloads of people are going to share clips of this jump but those folks likely won't know what the event is, or even what the sport is. I know this concept was created by Dan to make a race with the biggest more technical features on it and I totally understand that but it seems to me that this is entering try hard vs something genuinely good for the sport or even interestingly. Don't...

If I was Team Manager for any World Cup rider, I'd be pulling the plug on this race. A simulation is very easy to run to understand take off speed, approach angle, landing angle, etc. You know, physics? Should never be up to a racer to guinea pig random napkin engineering. I feel bad for the riders. On one side Disco is Dumbing Down the races, on the other RB is Dumbing Up with builds like this. Race injuries due to line choice is one thing, but I don't want to watch a rider get concussed because of a poor...

The fact that you think crabs is 70ft makes it very hard to take anything else you say seriously.

I also think something is being overlooked here. If this is a race... Held in Wales... That frequently experiences delays or cancellations due to wind and rain. How in the name of the lord are you gonna run this safely? As much as I love some do or die shit... I was hoping Wales would go more in the tech direction and less in the whole 80-90 footers direction after last year's cancellation. This is beyond like safety and design bias, just logistically as a showrunner this feature seems like a nightmare. It's the kind of thing you build for...

Old person here. Rampage is too groomed. It's so 'mid' now. 90ft jumps are not the norm for pro's......not even the darkfest crew. I know some of the 'boyz'. Most of them are scared shitless. *You're The event is owned and run by RB. The diggers (some of the Dyfi crew) are contracted to build/maintain the course. Dh is a minority sport.....but that does'nt mean that there should be a high chance of death for a minor mistake. Both Bk's and Jims jumps could have gone very, very, very badly wrong. It's bike racing.....not Beyond Thunderdome (ask your Dad). I'm going back to my...

i take back "the jump works" statement i made above. i had seen matt jones clip the other day (different angle). after watching bernard (one of the best jumpers on the planet?) and then jim's compression, clearly it's not a good jump. jim got pummeled. hope he's ok long-term. that was a severe hit to the head.

Wasn’t a fan of this feature before and definitely even less of a fan after seeing BK and Jim do it BK almost landed to far to the left and ran off the landing in that direction which looks like it would be disastrous. And the compression from the transition was enough to spit Jimbo off his bike. It’s just not a good feature, imo. Reminds me of Sam Reynolds (I believe it was) refusing to do a rampage run because they wouldn’t put up safety netting. They need netting on this.

Respect to the Hills, wish them nothing but the best! Even if Sam was to decide to step away from racing for good…. he has nothing to prove, he’s done all that already, put his stamp of DH/Enduro racing and inspired a lot of people along the way. Given the current state of the mountain bike scene and racing I can’t blame them for taken this time out, given the kids a life that will help massively in the future if they want to pursue the Moto racing full time.

Can be made millable, but had fun with the shape since it didn't have to be. SLM is a great process - only advantage i see of milling is ability to anodize colors - AlSi10Mg is highly corrosion resistant and strong, but it's silver (conveniently the silver goes with the derailleur cage and decals quite well). Titanium is an option - with the fun anodization options that brings, but much more expensive for same utility so aside from a small number of misguided humans (like myself - purple Ti for me) aluminum makes more sense. There's a small post as...

Exactly!!! I am considering one. Both my regular bike and ebike use the same size, not on accident, so $499 is closer to making it worth while. I can just switch the post and lever back and forth between bikes so it is like a $250 post! (selling point to the wife, gotta twist it in my favor) - you can only ride one bike at a time! (again anything to support paying $500 for a seat post)

Maybe I’ve been mountain biking too long but that Specialized is boring AF. Really what were they hiding? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Hype department has a lot of funding, engineering department maybe not as much.

I’ve drawn some lines to create a triangle that illustrates why it doesn’t move if you were to lockout the shock. The pivot up on the seat tube by the yellow line is fixed. The pivot that is the red circle is effectively fixed when the shock is made rigid. Those two points define the blue line. The green line and yellow line are fixed length. As a result their positions are completely defined in space.
