Dogboy Liked a reply to forum topic Where do you mix and match wheel size? How do you feel different configs compare?
11/5/2024 7:53am This is pretty similar to my take on wheel size swaps. I've had a couple of bikes (Kona Process X and Ibis Ripley V5) now where the geo is retained with the flip chips (a few mm CS length change, but all other geo the same) and really enjoy the option to swap rear wheels. I'd say I have a preference for the MX setup based on my riding style, but sometimes it's fun to run the full 29 setup.

4/18/2024 9:48am I can agree to this. Decreasing the fork travel from 160-140 on my old Giant Reign made climbing roads so much less of a drag. Like I did not feel like I was on a 160mm bike anymore. I felt like I was on a 130mm bike. Im glad I was one of the lucky few who did not experiences problems with my Talas though.

4/17/2024 7:30pm Bring back (reliable) external fork travel adjustment (u-turn, 2-step, or Talas) with some kind of rear shock adjustment (Canyon shapeshifter, or just multiple shock mounts). Sometimes I want a 170ish mm enduro feel, sometimes I want a 140ish mm trail feel. Often I end up using very similar parts for either build on separate frames...one frame and fork that just...

10/13/2018 11:15am Haha right? I think it's more just a tough market. Too many good bikes out there these days. Not a lot of love for something mediocre (as good as I'm sure it rides...).

10/9/2018 6:27pm Proportional response optimized pivot placement. These guys must have taken that 2019 Carbon Patrol press camp video too seriously. Speaking of proportional, why so long in the seat tube for the given sizes? And even for taller people that can deal with the seat tube length...there's the angle, which is still no good. Close...but...pass, too many good bikes out there these days! Feel like these are gonna be a tough sell.

10/4/2018 12:56pm Saw that you got a OneUp dropper, sweet! Are you able to slam it down to the seatpost collar? I've been thinking of upgrading. Have a 170mm oneup dropper on my sentinel and i love it.

10/4/2018 12:43pm Yeah maybe. I mean it's a 1.5" straight headtube so you can run an angleset to make it less slack, just need to figure out the right ZS56 combo. Or just run the shock stiffer so it rides higher? I dunno. Bummer you don't like it, I love mine. It's a Whistler wrecker! Super fun having a DH bike I can pedal. I also have a transition sentinel that sees more daily duties, this just serves as my DH rig (that I can pedal to hit local freeride trails). Way more versatile than a full DH.

10/3/2018 9:23am @thomdawson I've never actually measured my HA, but I'd say my stock bike rides like it is closer to 63 than 65. Which is a desirable trait for me for this type of bike
. Maybe they did get it wrong on their chart? Lyrik 180 is going to have a slightly longer a-to-c measurement than a fox 36, but that shouldn't be a 2 degree difference. They probably just discontinued them since they didn't sell as well as their Meta series, or the Supreme DH. Just a hypothesis though. Most people still seem to want full DH rigs...not sure...

6/8/2018 9:05am I wasn't really surprised by Gwin's crash either. I had a gut feeling that he was carrying too much speed into the woods and that something was bound to give. At that speed he was forced to take the low/outside line, which ultimately was his undoing. To make the high/inside he would've had to slow up. Perhaps that hole got worse throughout the day, but my spidey sense started tingling right when he came into that section.

3/30/2018 11:25am Roger that, certainly a clean/easy solution. I'll probably do that. One more question - how much modding did you have to do to that V4 mudguard to fit? I'll post my bike check soon! Waiting on my Light Bicycle 38mm carbon rims and Onyx hubs to come in

3/30/2018 10:45am Word! Good to know, thanks! So I'll probably stick with a 125mm Integra and a quick release seat collar so I can slam the seat for jump/dh/shuttle sessions (got a Hope one which is really nice). Another thought I had was using a KS externally routed 150mm. My 150mm KS externally routed dropper is just under 8.5" long I think. So without the extra stuff at the bottom of the post that the Integra has, this is a pretty ok option (except having to figure out how to route the cable). Would be able to easily remove the dropper for...

3/30/2018 9:42am Super dope build! I am trying to figure out what to do with my dropper post. I want to be able to run the seatpost slammed all the way down (for as low of a seat as possible). How far down can you lower that seatpost with the Bike Yoke? Does it go all the way into the frame?

3/30/2018 9:40am Super dope build! Looks like from the photo that you can slam the KS LEV Integra 125mm all the way down so that it is all the way in the seattube (lowest possible seat)? Mine still has the 125mm Reverb, and I can't slam it all the way because the cable extrudes from the base so much. The overall length of the 125mm Reverb with the cable on the bottom is really close to a 150mm KS LEV Integra I have on another bike, potentially a bit longer. So I'm trying to figure out if I can get a 150mm...
