Agreed. The only reason I have the bike I have now and not the TEMPO V1 is the headset routing. I had decided on the TEMPO and then one day realized it had headset routing. I couldn't believe it. It's SUCH a dumb idea that I didn't even think a bike brand as practical as Commencal seems to be would make a decision like that. But they did. And I bet it cost them a lot of sales.

Do any industry folks have some inside baseball into how decisions that eventually get walked back like headset routing, wireless only (Santa Cruz walking back in new Nomad launch video), and even Super Boost get through in the first place? To us common folk, this was the obvious outcome of all of those choices, but I want to believe the industry is not really that out of touch with their customer.

I was really hoping we'd see that with the launch of the Demo 11. Something like a modern day HammerSchmidt. If I had a feeling a third party may have to get involved.

I like to climb everything rather than push up so I am one of the few that cleans the ebike climbs hehe. Yeah very steep stuff around here.

That’s pretty stupid thing to post. I bet a lot of people here have a lot of information on hundreds of bikes that are under embargo, but we’re not dickhead so we don’t just go leaking stuff. This is for people to find stuff out in the wild and post it like if a website messes up by posting a bike early or somebody sees something in the wild or spy shots or whatever not just straight up leaking stuff from your bikeshops account

I'm here to defend (good) trail associations. I was the first Executive Director of Evergreen MTB Alliance in WA State in the early 00's and then on the exec committee of the board for another 10 years. We (both paid crews and volunteers) built tons of tech trails, and yeah a lot of flow trails and jump lines for the masses. I think a good balance between the styles. Behind the scenes we fought HARD to keep open the unsanctioned areas - areas I rode and may or may not have spent countless hours digging at

Re: IMBA (and other trail associations) besides them building almost exclusively flow trails, I find the biggest drawback is the mob mentality of people that take part. -Come in and gaslight local government into letting them be the judge jury and executioner regarding how the entire trail system will be built and managed moving forward. -Build exclusively flow. Great looking bike. Very short chainstays equating to a 1.9 f/r ratio in size large. That's moving in the opposite direction to where most bikes are headed lately. Medium looks good at 1.83 f/r though. The large and XL are going to be relegated to "arizona" bikes, where corners are slow, and the steps are large. Short chainstays are good there. Hopefully the updated insurgent/wreckoning have a better balance in the larger sizes.

S - 7.79lb / M - 7.87lb / L - 8.04lb / X - 8.18lb. That is with SuperDeluxe shock, headset cups, and all frame hardware. Worth noting that weight will vary from one frame to the next, although these are actual weights that were just taken in the warehouse.

This is something that is very useful to know and I appreciate the companies that make it easy to access. A lot of people want to either upgrade the shock or bring over a high end damper they already own. So this makes it much easier to get that person set up properly if the bike company hasn't already supplied detailed settings and spring rates for that shock

It’s funny to me, because the very thing on that thread that people were lambasting YT and Canyon for is the thing that I find exciting: bikes that perform well and represent a good value proposition. Fancy magical linkages, outlier kinematics, adjustable geometry, bleeding edge race tech… overrated. Give me a bike with surprisingly good component specs that works well for its intended use case at a good price point. I’m getting a little turned on just typing that. EXCITING!

FWIW, modern F1 cars have quite a bit of anti-dive geometry in the front and anti-squat geometry in the rear, preventing the car from pitching back and forth during braking and accelerating to keep the aero platform (the underbody) as stable as possible and thus the downforce as consistent as possible.
