9/5/2025 12:40pm Thought I might leave this here. I made some longer levers for XT/Saint brakes. 25% longer than stock. So in theory there is about 25% more power at the same lever force or the same power at 25% less lever force. I am running the lever with a magura caliper and 220 front rotor. The power is pretty insane. I have a buddy running this lever on a saint, and he also is enjoying the extra power. I mainly made this because I ride significantly better when my hands are fresh and I know I can slow down. *Ignore the...

9/3/2025 1:06pm also worth noting: every single anti-proportional cs person talks incessantly about tight corners, as if thats the best part of mountain biking. "how will you steer your bike through 180° switchbacks?!?" dude i don't look forward to those types of turns on any length cs or wheelbase. when we are talking about suspension performance we hear the same thing about pedaling efficiency, as if pedaling uphill is this incredible experience that we are all looking forward to. Why are we designing bikes around moments that at best are bearable on a bike rather than optimizing our bikes for absolutely sick...

9/3/2025 12:37pm I can't help but wonder how much of the TMD is a placebo effect.. The Pink Bike article that left 2 riders not being able to tell a difference was interesting.. Factor in the mud fest they're dealing with this weekend combined with the wide variation off hits they see, what do you tune it for? I think James Stewart summed it up best.. Racers are mental midgets. If they believe it's faster, it will be.. We've all heard Jordi talk about how simply wiping down a shock made it feel way better to some riders..

8/26/2025 9:38am I've received emails from most component suppliers that they've raised prices 10-15%. Others who didn't send notices seem to have raised prices quietly. New product launches and updates are often price increases in disguise. The owner of Revel bikes was on national radio a few days ago saying that they'll show tariffs as line item at checkout, kinda like sales taxes. Beyond Revel, the story was of how US businesses who held off on price increases during the 90 day negotiation period are now resigned to raising prices if they want to remain viable. I've seen a few European bike-biz...

8/26/2025 9:32am Not sure how that's going to work. I broke a lot of those old knucklebox Diamondbacks (almost every single one) because all of the shock force is channeled through the center of the downtube at a 90 degree angle where the link mounts. Tubes are great in tension and a little bit less great in axial compression (along their length), but really really bad when you put a welded stress riser in the middle of a tube and push perpendicular to it. They rode great though, because they had a nice rampy leverage curve at a time when most trail...

8/26/2025 9:31am Well at least it's not just a diaper hiding a standard horst link setup. Can't quite figure out how the rocker link drives the shock.

8/21/2025 7:41am Chatter on new designs releasing just makes people avoid buying the current models because they are waiting for the new ones to come out. The more they prolong releasing new bikes, the more other brands will scoop up that market share from the previous brand loyalists who didn't want to wait 6 years to buy their next enduro bike.

8/15/2025 2:18pm Just a reminder that the actual conspiracy is SRAM selling heavily discounted electronic groupsets to component integrato... I mean "bike brands" knowing that consumers will be on the hook for their shitty, high margin proprietary batteries and chargers. Nothing says improving the environment and sustainability like planned obsolescence and more e-waste. Social Responsibility btw: https://www.sram.com/en/company/about/social-responsibility
