10/20/2025 7:37am Couple things... I think the acquisition of Whyte by Causeway Capital is the first PE deal we've seen in years. Again, someone check me if I'm wrong, but maybe the ice has thawed. @PisgahGnar - to your question... First, PE and VC are not the same. I know I keep beating this drum, but VC aims at backing startups in high growth industries with the goal they will IPO or get bought for billions of dollars (I'm generalizing) . PE invests in private companies that are generally mature with the goal of selling them in a relatively short amount of...

10/20/2025 7:30am The live feed of the crash actually made it look not too bad, but the side angle thats floating around instagram truly shows the size of the cliff he fell off. Pretty sure he has hip and injuries in one leg, but unsure of specifics Here is said insta post - https://www.instagram.com/reel/DQAXtkrCYVl/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link…

10/19/2025 3:22pm Results and report: ------------------------------- Are you not entertained? It’s a question the Roman gladiators might have asked their audience in the arena, and it’s also a question we ask ourselves every year as Rampage comes around. Unlike any other event on the planet, Rampage always walks a fine line between catastrophe and showbusiness, with the stakes getting ever higher as the athletes push to progress the sport from year to year. The 2025 edition saw a lot of progress, and unfortunately, a high price was demanded in return. As we write these lines, we do not know the nature of...

10/19/2025 8:20am First things first, It wasnt on a pit bike. Secondly you can get hurt doing anything in life.. that’s life. And thirdly if you’d listened to any of his pod casts last year you would have heard him speak about the meltdowns himself and discuss how he has grown as a person and doesn’t do this anymore. Before you criticise the guy atleast have a small understanding of what you’re criticising.

10/18/2025 12:24pm Not exactly an innovation per se; but Raaw has started offering the option to rent a toolbox full of all their adjustments included. You get it for two weeks so you can decide if any of those adjustments make sense before you buy. And, get a discount when you do decide to buy something afterwards. Pretty cool idea. https://raawmtb.com/en-us/collections/parts/products/raaw-factory-suppo…

10/18/2025 12:18pm Only advantage Bosch has at this point, is that it's viewed as the 2000's Japanese 4 banger of the market. No new hotness, but people consider them very reliable. Sometimes HAVING a warantee and NEEDING a warantee are pretty different experiences. If they both had a 3 year warranty, would you rather own a Chevy Equinox, or a Honda CRV? The guy who rides in Turbo mode everywhere, and has 3 spare batteries for more laps isn't the average EMTB rider, either.

10/18/2025 12:12pm Showing up to a federal land agency meeting with heat maps printed discussing decommission was an eye opening experience. It’s a great tool for them to identify and remove any trail that was a significant amount of time to build. Your 2 minutes of enjoyment likely was 100 hours of work or more. And it just put a bullseye on the trail when you published your ride. You can remove sharing heat maps on your settings, not make rides public and hide your maps. Or just not strava those trails.

10/18/2025 11:28am Obviously if your budget only stretches to 2 elite males then that's all you can have but Mondraker look to have invested pretty heavily in the race program to run the risk of injuries puting a kaibosh on the whole thing . Last year they had Ronan injured after hard-line , Dak missing races and Greg Williamson not really fit with a shoulder injury. You'd think they'd want a bit of depth to the team after that .

10/18/2025 11:18am They discuss his future later in the pod. Pivot doesn’t seem likely from what they said. Norco or Intense both seemed possible. Also: the way the whole thing is discussed is kind of strange. There is never a mention of “I won’t be back with Mondraker” from what I heard. It just seems that they haven’t necessarily renewed his contract YET. Also possible they made an offer (possibly reduced salary) and he’s chosen to look elsewhere. I would love to see Dak on Mondraker one more year. In the past he’s talked about needing stability and consistency in his program...

10/18/2025 10:58am Asa signed for a couple of years with Frameworks. I'm sure he knows his worth, and I doubt he's taking a huge pay cut just to stay on Frameworks. This isn't one of those sports where guys are signing "team-friendly" deals, so I'd assume they're getting some funds from other sponsors/sources.

10/18/2025 10:55am This is not to take away anything from Dunne, I think he's one of the top of the heap right now, especially in the long run, but he can be a bit ride or die, which has come through a few times this year with big results or none at all with crashes/smashes that caused DNF's or low placements, or podiums with 10-15th places otherwise, which is amazing don't get me wrong Dak on the other hand, even missing half the season because of the non race related accident and having to rebuild from not being able to train or...

10/18/2025 10:43am Just listened to the latest OTB . They have osin to Trek and apparently Trek wanted him to sign in the mid season transfer window but YT wouldn't release him which is pretty rubbish considering they can't or aren't paying him . Makes his own kit purchase protest pretty justified I reckon.

10/18/2025 10:43am yeah, might be some truth to it since vali mentioned on WynTV that she learned to read her contracts carefully for the future... i mean that clause alone shows everyone how shitty of a company YT is, since it looks like they already knew that the end could be near 🤬 plus signing andi kolb to a 4 year contract which didn't even last for 10 months is just baffling.
