7/23/2024 11:36am Most of the “core” mtb brands who have new carbon frames due for release this year or next will be wireless only. It’s not going away.

7/23/2024 11:35am Guessing you're a transplant to the South?
These things are everywhere in college and pro ball. Not sure they are that applicable to most of our falls, but can't imagine they hurt anything. Regardless, good thing to share as I bet most people on here haven't seen them. If we're going to start adopting things from (american) football, I humbly request, on behalf of all southeastern US riders, that we give some consideration to sweatbands being cool. It's really hot and humid down here, and getting worse. Also, if the set up Loic has goes to production, we should...

7/23/2024 11:35am This has been true for decades. The top of the market, most expensive, most desirable goods are shockingly stable no matter what the economy as a whole does. People buying $12,000 and up bikes basically fall into 2 groups. 1. Dedicated hardcore riders who aren't paying full retail, and are throwing the $12,000 bike into a $1,000 car. 2. People with enough free cash that a $12,000 purchase doesn't make a difference to them. The guys who put their $15,000 road bike on top of their Porsche 911.

7/23/2024 11:35am Yeah when my wireless mouse doesn’t work that’s a good thing because that means I’m physically at work and can’t keep working, and work fuckin blows. When my wireless derailleur dies I’m super bummed because I actually want it to work.

7/23/2024 11:23am Its funny how we’ve fully accepted wireless in every other part of our lives, except when it comes to bikes.

7/23/2024 11:23am Current enduro is more mini dh than actual enduro bike, its super capable but its too much of a bike for a regular day out and the fact that even factory team does not race with it tells you enough. Before they had stumpjumper evo to fill the gap but with new stumpjumper that gap is even wider now so it makes sense to bring enduro back to full enduro :D

7/23/2024 10:21am I have definitely not heard anything about the new Trek Slash+ being released on the 26th of July with the new TQ 580Wh, SRAM Maven's on the SRAM spec, weighing 20.9kg / 46lbs in size medium and the 9.9 XO AXS build pricing the same as the non-e Slash 9.9 XX AXS

7/23/2024 10:11am Anyone know what DT Swiss have in the works? Some of their riders (Richie Rude, Danny Hart etc) running plain silver/white coloured wheels with no graphics on them Would love to see a re-released ex1750 wheelset

7/23/2024 10:10am The common issues on Enduro frames I know of are: 1. Early sworks frames came with a carbon pull-link. These had issues breaking. 2. The integrated headset bearing races have issues cracking and delaminating 3. They've had issues cracking on the seat tube where the rocker link pivot goes through. As far as I know, the only one that's still common-ish is the headset.

7/23/2024 10:10am Because Specialized handle it so well. Whereas a lot of other brands begrudge warranty and make any claims an absolute ballache. The amount of failures is also directly related for the amount they sell too. Proportionally it’s probably very similar to everyone else.

7/23/2024 10:10am Isn’t it funny how this is a known issue yet nobody gives shit to Specialized for the amount of failures while other brands that have a few broken frames here and there ( that get replaced under warranty) takes shit for years and years?

7/23/2024 10:10am Beat me to it Primoz! They would have a mountain of rear triangles because of the insane failure rate of the front triangles from not 1, but 4 common points of failure. I can only assume production issues mean they went with the complicated pull link design seen on the prototype demo?

7/23/2024 10:09am Yeah, odd they just didn’t do a Stumpy Evo-esq update last year. Adjustable head cups etc. Just modernise the geo a tad, keep the suspension layout the same and do a full redesign after the proto demo becomes production. Maybe they didn’t want to invest in the moulds due to the covid slump and thought they’d skip a generation 🤷
