(for clarification, i was aware foes was using floating brakes arms back in the early 2000's as i was trackside at the races...just thought the new foes and saracen suspension layouts and floaters looked similar-ish)

My 2004 Santa Cruz V10 had a floating arm as well. My Transition Blindside had one around 2008. These existed to overcome a variety of brake/suspension induced characteristics. There was even a company that made them for a variety of bikes. Brake Therapy. What was old is new again: tall bars, pulley wheels, floating brake arms...

Really excited to see Foes develop something that isn't a boomer bike. Their last few years have been pretty sad... they have an opportunity to really shine, with a great brand heritage and US based aluminum fab capability.

sets $6k aside for both I'll so gladly trade NX for Deore (*edit), +1 to the Status launch being way more exciting than the stumpy. Accessible 26" parts will be perfect for my Sunday rebuild too. Go big S!

They did this with the last one. They gave a bunch of tangentially MTB-related athlete influencer types (like skateboarders and BMX people) the status months before release but told everyone except them not to talk about it. Weird. It doesn't look cracked to me, but it does look shoddy. Lines are great though, and the idea of a 27.5/26 inch mullet full suspension bike from a major company is pretty neat.

the status DH has a 180mm boxxer, not 200, FYI. not sure why there's a friday embargo if the bike's out in the wild for everyone to see and talk about

I know we are all supposed to be impressed with the new Stumpy, but man the new Status is a much better looker. Simple and clean. One of the best looking bikes I've seen in a while.

A bit after the 7 minute mark stuff on the new status starts, 170 coil rear + 200mm boxxer version shorter travel (140?) 27.5/26 version Stumpys mudguard has turned up, downtube protector, not sure what all the stuff is down the non driveside. External routing points? Also saw this over on instagram, colourway matches that website that is listing the old spec for the 24 170 version

Apologies for tater cam. New Ripley spotted today. Reach grows. Same design as the HD6. In frame storage, mullet chip, no other adjustments seen. Claims made: The Ripmo will share the same triangles with a different shock and yoke. Build weight XT/Fox Factory/Ibis Carbon wheels/ DHR II and Dissector 28 lbs.

noticed that the base model 134 comes in with an MSRP of under $2k USD. definitely a budget build, but IMO its good to see that there are proper bikes in that price range for new riders looking at their first bike.
