7/16/2024 9:54am That's good to hear it actually worked for you, I must've not gotten all the grease off the threads when I re-torqued mine. Glad Rocky Mountain caught the issue too!

7/16/2024 9:54am I've got two months on the altitude at this point and it's been great, but I certainly know what you mean about that ramp up. The stability is amazing though, I feel like it can take on anything. As for the BB area issue, I did the blue locktite before I took it out to ride and let it set for two days. It hasn't come loose again and I've been on the chonk hard. Apparently someone greased the threads at the factory instead of using locktite on a batch which caused the issue. It wasn't caught until the run...

7/10/2024 10:29am Since noone’s answering in the PIT BITS’ comment section, i’ll ask here as well (and hopefully steer the thread back to rumors): how come there’s no talk about the Lapierre high-pivot dh-bike? Or is it the new Spicy with just a dc-fork up front, which was listed shortly somewhere and now is gone and nowhere to be seen?

7/10/2024 10:06am So they had a gravel trap on the test track for this very reason, I was able to test on paved road and gravel, worked equally well in both situations. I had to do a few runs on the gravel as I didn't trust the ABS, once I had the confidence to brake really hard it was faultless. Obviously flat ground is not representative of real world trail use, so would be keen to use it in anger on some proper trails.

7/4/2024 1:42pm Sure, anything is possible. If you read between the lines, what I'm saying is we are entering into (or have entered into) a different era as is reflected by the development over the last 4-5 years, the trends and what is currently being released. IE - I'd be more inclined to say bikes are going to follow more of a line of dirt bikes, skis and golf clubs than they will the B200 vs H100. I'm just about to post a long blog post (cringe) on this exact topic where I delineate Moore's Law from the rest of technology. In...

7/4/2024 1:38pm Without defining the nature of an impact, force measurements would be required to know which transmits the most force to the rider. Now if you say the impact in question is a series of roots that are 50 mm tall, then it is accurate to say that the closer the deflection is to 50 mm then the lower the amount of force transmitted to the rider. Assuming it’s in phase with the roots of course. The graph in question here seems to show an extremely small root or something similar. An example of where you need to know force is...

7/3/2024 2:56pm Screw cables. I want my next bike's gears to shift with rods and pistons powered by coal fired steam. And I want my wheels made from wood thank you very much.

7/3/2024 2:56pm Yes, thereis. Trying to say you're not being forced to run transmission on a bike that forces you to run transmission ONLY at the moment is a pretty high amount of noggin joggin. Otherwise the bike really does look great. Once theres a version available with mechanical routing I'm all for it. I was more commenting the on the drivetrain, not the rear shock. I like the idea of it, and I like that it's a proprietary design with a standard sizing for other shock options. Funny how the design team built so many options on it, and yet took...

7/3/2024 2:55pm from jason's vital review which has exactly what you're asking..... "include tighter writing, more of the reviewer's personal voice, way less mealy language of it's claimed it might it may." to not include the marketing claims from a brand in a review seems the wrong way to go. putting down a brand's claim with a reviewer's experience could justify or negate the marketing hype. isn't that the whole point of the review? to see if the brand/bike is full of shit or not?

7/3/2024 2:39pm Differential F/R wheel speed as it's shown in the recent stumpjumper review is a bogus way to measure traction in a mountain bike. Many here may not have read the whitepaper (ha!) for the newest Diverge frame, but it is chock full of pseudoscience b.s. that would be a judgement call between incompetence and academic fraud if the two researchers that are supposed to have collaborated on it published anything like the summary being used by the marketing team. I think Vital and other mtb media shouldn't be copy-pasting this kind of stuff without a level of critical distance from...

7/3/2024 2:37pm Because they’re relatively expensive and people want to point out everything negative about it even if it’s only based on personal preference. You are correct, the bike is looking to be a killer all rounder with a few interesting designs features but at the end of the day, they’re going to sell heaps of them because they appeal to the majority of the market. That’s the point and why Specialized is successful.
