I am going to spell it out for everyone here that has less experience with Trolls. Someone is purposefully saying silly things to rile you up, just ignore it. Do not reply. Not even a little bit. Just let the stupid comment die in the wind. Then it wont be fun for them anymore and maybe, if we are lucky, we can move on with our lives

Yeah pretty much. You have a baseline setting and its tweaked for each track, and since they race the tracks each year pretty much they know a very solid starting setup (obviously conditions change that). My point was more about how, from an engineering stand point Fox products use a lot more spring force for support than their competitors (Ohlins generally are the most damped products from stock, with Rockshox in the middle) But once you get used to a setup, you just run that. You do major swaps between season (notice how most riders stick to the same frame...

Yeah its that basic stuff that makes the most difference and has more room for gains. The window of different damping tunes to cover every rider is much smaller than people think, especially for forks! So that should be taken care of early in the season and the rest of the time only needs to be a few clicks of damping here and there. The hierachy of set up priorities, with diminishing returns from each step would be - Tyre pressure Servicing/Friction Spring rate Volume spacers damping clickers internal valving At least at a race - it is possible someone...

When doing development you’re splitting hairs- typically looking for tiny improvements. the time of day and rider fatigue plays a huge factor. Suspension feels terrible first run after lunch with a sandwich still bouncing around in your stomach. Then a few runs later fatigue sets in and everything feels crappy. very hard to test A/B/A setups with similar conditions, fatigue levels etc. A poorly timed flat tire can ruin a day of testing. You run out of time to do the repeats and get frazzled etc.

Suspension setup talk makes me think of a line from a book. “Do you know how to tell a good lie, Master Amadu? I know how to tell a bad one. When people talk false, their words are muddy where they should be clear, clear where they should be muddy.” Rider’s expressions of how the suspension they’re giving feedback about are often unbelievably specific about a particular moment of the test ride, where how sensitive that rider is portraying themself to be is like some internet forum merit badge. People naturally copy each other’s language, making the lines you see...

We actually blocked you. Because of all the other crap not the thinking something is too progressive. You’re actually the only person we’ve ever blocked. I guess you get some sort of an award or something. Not sure it’s one I’d want…

Youre attacking one of the nicest and most earnest industry commentators on the forum, and complaining when they defend themselves? Cascade are a true treat to have on this forum and provide lots of insights for all of us. If you have an actual issue with a product take it up privately with them, not by passive aggressively snarking on their products. Rumour related, Ride-9 rockymountain was largely useless, most of the adjustments were so damn similar, I would argue you need 4 adjustments at most, long/short CS, and low/high bb/HA adjustment, maybe a progression adjustment too (ignoring that CS...

MTB forums/comments: Reviewers are industry schills, they never write anything bad about any products. Everyone knows that sucks/is unrideable/will fail and won't get warranty support. Also MTB forums/comments: This reviewer wrote something critical about a product I happen to like, they must be biased against that company. Total hatchet job man!

Let's be honest, DVO stuff is just hot garbage, if they no longer existed tomorrow no one would miss them. For the last 3 years they were saying no one needed a 38mm stanchioned fork, now apparently everyone needs one.

It's got a similar 5-4-5-4 block pattern with intermediate blocks on the 5 row. And it's not something currently in their lineup. So I would assume it's Assegai *inspired*

5-10 years down the line and I think a lot of IBD's are going to be happy to not sell (as many) bikes anymore. It'll be a challenge to get used to having less revenue to start but in the end I think they'll be more profitable with less risk this way. The honest to god truth of it is that bike shops are generally bad at forecasting their long term inventory needs. Get rid of the inventory and a shop's biggest liability is also their greatest profit generator: skilled labor. Imagine a shop with just mechanics, fitters/advisers, and some...

another thing to consider is the possibility / probability that your LBS isn't a dealer for a particular brand. this is a way for them to reach customers who otherwise wouldn't consider a particular brand because they can't get it locally. for instance, i live just outside one of the biggest cities on the east coast, and the closest yeti dealer to me is an hour away. same with scott and norco (in another state no less). closest devinci dealer is over 2 hrs. plenty of trek/giant/spesh dealers within 30 minutes, but if you're looking for something other than the...

Virtually every shop I have ever been in: “We don’t have that at the moment, but we can order it for you.” I can order it too, and it’ll come straight to my house. I’m going to install it myself anyway regardless of where it was purchased. Why would I make a second trip? Complete bikes are the same. I’m going to go over your build with a fine tooth comb, so why wouldn’t I just build it myself from the get-go. I don’t understand people arguing so hard to support brick and mortar just because that is the long...

You spelled park/DH bike strangely. Nothing "enduro" about a close ratio DH cassette, DC fork, and lack of a dropper post. I dig it though
