What is it about the seat angle and head angle you wouldn't call "modern"? If the HA was over 65 degrees I would agree but its 64 which is spot on IMO, going slacker than that would bring more drawbacks than anything. Proportionally sized chainstays are a nice to have but logistically difficult, and are still pretty rare. Kinematics are far from the most difficult I've seen, its pretty high but up to around 110kg is not a problem and as long as the spring is appropriate they will work really well, unlike other challenging bikes which have more compromise...

If we assume Specialized isn't going to change the layout, all that bike needs is subtle updates to be modernized, and they could race that bike without camo and we would be none the wiser.

I highly doubt there's a new enduro coming or it would of been raced already at EDR.

STREWTH, first “overbiked” and now “overtired”. Look mate, some folks only have one bike. It’s nice to have a big rig with meaty dh rubber. Just cos you see people riding mellow trails on big bikes doesn’t mean they don’t also see proper terrain and abuse. We get it, you’re amazing. You ride WC DH tracks on a XC unicycle with a 23mm slick. Good for you. DH casing tyres on trail/enduro bikes, yes please.

Or, and hear me out here, this might be tough for some to hear, our own individual experiences do not define those of others. None of us ride the same trails, on the same bikes, in the same style, at the same speeds. What works for one, might not work for others, and our individual experiences are proof of nothing other than our own experiences, and even those are full of bias cause we all think we are doing/making the best decisions for ourselves. We could all do with taking a step back every now and then when telling others...

Unfortunately, many in MTBing, are often confused on the roles played by first the spring rate and how it's used primarily to manage chassis attitude, balance and support and is mostly specific to rider/ bike combined weight & weight distribution; vs. second the role of damping which is utilized to control the rate of the movement of the suspension and is much more specific to the rider and their aggression level and terrain. To put it in the most basic terms, a linear rear suspension with a coil would either a) bottom excessively, or b) have to utilize too much...

The reason most pros are running the stumpjumper over enduro is because the enduro isn't UDH and can't use sram transmission.

If my vest had sleeves, it would be a jacket…. you’re comparing a coil in-line shock designed for a Spur, with an air shock (with piggyback) designed for a Spire or TR-11, and are surprised that they are in fact close on weight?

won't disagree that there's health benefits in many cases, but pretty big assumption to make that this (or any person) has any weight to lose. nothing wrong with product innovation to accommodate a broader range of body types.

Well we can all calm down because measuring off that photo by scaling from the wheel rims indicates that it's a 205mm shock.
