Bedlam Added a reply to Should DH Bikes Have Water Bottle Mounts?
2/20/2024 12:19pm Having recently converted my 2020 Gambler to single crown 180mm, 12sp drivetrain and dropper (external for now, may go axs if the bike is a success) I'd love a place to mount a cage, but then again I'm not against riding with a fanny pack either..

1/1/2024 12:02pm More like I finally have the option of a downhill bike so I want to see what all the hype is about. I am plenty happy with Enduro and from what I've heard internally, contrary to rumours, Enduro isn't going anywhere. But just wait till you see my latest bike, new year new me.

Bedlam Added a reply to 2023 TEAM RUMORS
1/5/2023 5:41am Isn't that the way with Kona though? They are all the hype for a few years (OG Stinky etc. in the early -00's) to being absolutely irrelevant for some time (Magic link anyone?) to coming back to being the bees knees (Process, Carbon operator, gravel bikes) and then back into the abyss again.

12/2/2022 10:17pm Will going back to non-headset cable routing the new threaded BB? Companies jump on the integration trend now and then in a few years some company will go back to the "old, better style" of external routing and be lauded for finally listening to the consumer and then over the next three years most companies will return to where we...

10/28/2022 11:37am I've done my winter (as well as some injury recovery time...) training on a trainer since 2018. I like the structured training plans with Trainerroad, I just have to put one in the calendar and set my butt on the saddle the prescribed number of times per week and turn the pedals. The obvious drawback is that Trainerroad offers no...

3/21/2022 11:42am As a follow up to the earlier post, I am now clear of the cancer(I consumed so much green stuff)thanks to my wife’s care and cooking still got the COPD & it’s getting worse. Along with the heart it’s been scary to say the least. Probably the worst mistake was listening to the doctors telling me no exercise that screwed me worse. So it’s walking until it hurts then start walking again carrying a can of Boost Oxygen with me while walking or riding, on a bike path all this only being done with my wife being with me in...

Bedlam Added a reply to Trail vs Enduro What should I purchase?
2/2/2022 9:42pm Not to sound too silly but I'd recommend something in between, a classic "all mountain" bike... Something on the burlier side of the trail bike spectrum such as a Santa Cruz Hightower V2, Trek Remedy, Norco Sight, Canyon Spectral etc. with around 150 mm of travel but intended for more than just descending. I'd say a bike like the Hightower...

1/28/2022 9:45am If memory serves me right BK's California LSD series started off with him getting coaching and saying that he wanted to have a serious go at the podium this season. Emilie moving into a management position should take some of the team responsibility off BK's back letting him focus more on his own racing?

1/25/2022 12:31pm I wonder if Vital's updated media kit will have a page views ex-vaccine thread metric? At this rate, they may need it. LOL. This is a total dumpster fire. Downvotes. Politics. Long enough posts to be triggering but too short to be comprehensive enough where someone might actually see someone else's POV. Sam Harris noted he can count on one hand the number of times he's changed someone's mind in real time. Sam, for those of you who don't know, is without a doubt one of the smartest humans on the planet and an incredible debater. All I'll say is...

Bedlam Added a reply to No Vaccine, No Lourdes World Cup for Racers?
1/25/2022 11:18am What I mostly don't get is why you are so critical towards other countries for having vaccine mandates for entry while the US does the exact same thing? I'm planning a combined trip to US and Whistler in July from Sweden and me and the family will have to be vaccinated and tested (even our 4 year old, who doesn't...

1/7/2022 9:43am Well, we lost 2 athletes to this program-but we could not be happier for their new directions. Ryan has been a TLD grom since he started racing and we always hope these riders graduate into a factory program that is still with the brand, but, ultimately hope they find a solid and stable and supportive home-GT is a great program and we always know they are in good hands with Steve Spencer and the team-congrats Ryan. And as we said before, so happy for Katy to get back on a factory effort, not worry about all the headaches of self...

8/12/2021 12:49pm Hey Guys, another update. Austin was one of the first people I called after getting hurt. We're buddies and talk/ride together fairly regularly. I let him know what was up and wanted to confirm that he was staying in Europe for the next month like I thought he was. He's racing Maribor this weekend and isn't planning on coming back home until after the WC in Switzerland next month either way. That was good news as he's easily ready to go if I pull out. I also contacted USAC to make sure they get him everything he needs to compete...

8/9/2021 11:23am I'm 183 cm tall and I went from a size L 2017 Trek Remedy (27.5", reach 463) to a XL Orbea Occam (29", 500 reach) as I wanted more room in the cockpit and got caught up in the long bikes-fad. Crashed badly first few rides as I kept washing the front end before I got into the adjusted body...
Would be interesting if you had run it with a power meter to see if it has any positive or negative impact on pedalling performance, i.e. if you can recruit more or less muscles. I'm not sure I see the point for my mountain bike needs as I do a lot of my riding out of the saddle, but for the gravel bike it could be really interesting.

6/13/2013 7:44am That is, indeed, a brand new Öhlins shock in the making. The whole bike scene in Sweden is buzzing with rumors about them, as they had ads with open positions for a mountain bike specific section of the company and have been seen testing stuff out.

5/24/2012 10:55am I was at a the first race of the season last year, and feeling pretty good. I had all my lines somewhat dialed, and was just going to do a last coaster run down the track to calm my nerves and get a final look at everything. When i got to the last rock garden, I learned that when you go slow your suspension doesn't absorb hits as well as when you hit stuf at race pace. My front wheel stopped dead on a rock and as I was riding my first season on clipless pedals, me and the bike...
