So, after a few dark wintersI finally ordered a direct mount smart turbo an casette, should be here next week. My main question is, what is the best app for MTB? as my Tranny Scout will be used. I have seen Zwift but, only road does zwift have MTB stuff? Also any other tips for first timer will be greatly appreciated
Cheers
Jonathan
I've done my winter (as well as some injury recovery time...) training on a trainer since 2018. I like the structured training plans with Trainerroad, I just have to put one in the calendar and set my butt on the saddle the prescribed number of times per week and turn the pedals.
The obvious drawback is that Trainerroad offers no other form of entertainment than the clock, heart rate and power numbers.. Which for me really isn't that much of a problem. When I'm doing easy to moderate, steady state endurance type rides I just watch Netflix while riding, and when I'm doing hard intervals I don't need anything else than headphones with music as my full focus is on breathing, pedalling in OK circles and keeping the power up. 3-5 minute itervals goes by quickly enough..
One thing you need is a fan though. Doesn't have to be fancy, I've got a cheap classic standing oscillating fan (with the oscillation turned off) blowing straight at me from pretty near.
