Great exploration of why he sets up like that. I run wider bars than most of my buddies for this exact reason...it is where I put my hands when I bench in the gym.

I found this strangely relatable for mountain bike content. More than anything it comes across like a genuine attempt to help less experienced riders make a few simple decisions and arrive at a better outcome for themselves. So it came across to me a lot like the 5-10 minute demonstrations I do to introduce students to new lab equipment, or to ask them to think about more familiar equipment in a new way. I don't know if it gets engagement or changes people's behavior or moves product better or worse than all the other mtb marketing using tropes from beer...

8/13/2021 1:17pm This reminds me of Gee when he pulled out from the british WC team because he was not fully recovered. I wish you a speedy recovery and I hope to see you winning the world champs. Gwin FTW!!!

8/13/2021 1:10pm Not in the least bit surprised to hear this. The group of athletes at the sharp WC tip of the spear are small, especially from just the US. All these dudes know each other and DH has always been one of the chillest, friendly sides of the sport.

8/13/2021 1:10pm See, this is why all the chumps ready to vilify Gwin spouting off in here just need to chill. Unreal negativity on a place like Vital would get so hostile from a bunch of dudes that really have. no. clue.

8/12/2021 1:23pm As always, the peanut gallery again looks like we have zero idea what we are talking about (because, we don't). Nuance, turns out, is everything. Thanks for taking the time to update us superfans, best of luck recovering. Keep your head up.

8/12/2021 12:27pm Hey Guys, another update. Austin was one of the first people I called after getting hurt. We're buddies and talk/ride together fairly regularly. I let him know what was up and wanted to confirm that he was staying in Europe for the next month like I thought he was. He's racing Maribor this weekend and isn't planning on coming back...

8/7/2021 8:30pm Hey guys, bummer to see all the hate from a few of you but I guess that’s passionate fans in sporting. Here’s the reality. From my understanding and recent reading of the rules, There is not a rule that says you must petition. A petition just assures that you are considered. The rules basically say that USA cycling will pick...

5/21/2019 11:12am I shoulda been more descriptive and explained things better in that initial comment so that I'm not having to go back and clarify now. I answered a lot of these same accusations in the other responses I made on that same Instagram post but I'll give ya guys the goods too. I was just frustrated honestly. I had just got...

Apparently everyone forgot to tell these two nobodies that ebikes are only for losers and old fat guys. Haha Seriously though, I've said it before and I'll say it again: Percent of people who hate ebikes before they try one: ~100% Percent of people who hate ebikes after they try one: ~0%

11/26/2018 9:34am When brands win in racing, it's not about selling the specific product that was used on race day but about selling the brand as a performance brand and the more commercial grade products that are actually sold. Think F1, Moto GP, or even something more tangible like alpine ski racing- you know how many FIS-level race skis are sold? Very, very few. Ultimately, those races aren't used to sell the products of the moment, they are used to sell the brand and the more commercial products that they influence.
