Oh it was horrendous for the kid. So, he worked a JOB. Saved all his money up. Drooled over the Star Racing bike & just wanted to buy it outright b/c of the rule & he felt like it would make a difference in his own racing. Kid's got his own pro mechanic & both geek and wanted to race it and tear it down to see what it was like. Kid filed his claim correctly, Deegan somehow gets the kid alone in a team truck, pushing him that he doesn't want to do this, it'll ruin him. Muddying the...

One time, before heading up the lift on one of my first bike park days ever, I lubed my chain with an aerosol spray lube – inadvertently covering my rear rotor. This was at Winter Park, before it was Trestle, and one of the only ways down from the top was straight shot under the lift. I had probably just watched a Cedric Gracia or Fabien Barel NWD segment or something, so I nuked it down, thinking to myself "anyone seeing this from the lift is probably super impressed." When I grabbed brake for the corner at the bottom of...

I was squeezing my brake lever randomly at the trailhead, forgetting that I hadn’t put the back wheel back in yet and the pistons popped right out the caliper 🤦🏻‍♂️

I’ve had that exact thing happen to me; riding along the PCT up in Downieville area, I heard a nasty scratching/grinding sound…didn’t find the rock until it was too late. A new CSU fixed the problem!

Those Tsunoda zip tie cutters also work as emergency toe nail clippers say, for instance, when your riding buddy took a spill and ripped his big toe nail a bit more than halfway off. Saved the day.

X-Fusion, nonexistent support in the US. Got a Trace 36, it felt sticky as all get out so I dropped the lowers. They were bone dry, even the oil wipers. NBD, I can handle that, and they're far and away not the only co with this kind of assembly issue. In process, I knarfed up the rebound knob. Mea Culpa. I contact the US's support/disty to purchase one. Crickets. I try again. More crickets. Bit more sleuthing and I get in touch with S4 in Canada and order it. You folx in the US's chapeau have a hell of a...

In 2020 Santa Cruz told me running a bash guard on my megatower voided my warranty. The warranty rep said iscg stands for chain guide (cg) not bash guard (bg). Was pretty baffled by that and explained that the bike had come from their factory with the bash guard already mounted to the frame out of the box. They then warrantied my frame and send a new triangle about 2 months later. I was pretty shocked by their initial response, but I have absolutely nothing to complain about in the end and got a great outcome.

I had heard good things about them. Think it came down to the EDC being such a cheap plastic afterthought, nobody really cared. More of the "it's cheap buy it again" we got bigger issues.

Half priced. On sale Victoria mazza or specialized tires for 40 bucks are the best tires to get.

Back in the 90’s, I cracked a Specialized M2 frame. Sent it back to Spesh, and they sent me a new frame…I did have to pay shipping: $4. I cracked a couple aluminum Intense frames, many years ago. The first one was warrantied several times, then I had to go thru a dealer for warranty…not good; I ended up with...

How could you test all these different inserts as being deemed 'run flat' if you've hand ONE single flat in 4 years? You're either getting flats and having to ride them out or you're not. ONE is not, never has been...plural. Are you making up experiences you've never had in the past 4 years?

Huh? You just said when you get flats Tannus doesn't help but other brands do help when you get flats. If you're running DD's and have gotten enough flats to go through all of the brands you listed..."barely need Double Down casing" is you being in denial. I'm 200lbs & ride with nothing less than DD casing.

220lbs? What do you expect? I assume you at least run full DH sidewalls for trail riding?

As much as I like Bruni, as a racer…that’s all he is; a DH MTB racer! I’m not trying to offend anyone here, but many pro athletes have no education, or real life experience outside of racing. For most people, professional racing is a short opportunity/window…it doesn’t pan out for most financially. I was around AMA Supercross and nationals in...

1. DH racing is not comparable to alpine ski racing b/c you can't get on course & stay on course as a spectator. That is a big advantage in drawing money to the resorts for a World Cup. 2. World Cup experiences success in the 60 man field b/c it does allow for a finale with either surprise gypsy times OR a guy like Gwin or Amaury (both outside protected) to get through to qualifying for finals with damaged equipment or wrecks. It's inevitable in this sport unlike moto or F1. You WILL fall. Your equipment WILL break. 3. Cutting...
