I feel that heavy braking is the largest contributor/least discussed for pedal kick. The situation where you might be locking up the rear brake but still using a good amount of travel is the exact situation where you’d really want your suspension performing at its best

I've been looking into the Salsa Cassidy; however, I've been surprised with the lack of info out there. -Has anyone here actually played around with the conversion link setup, and if so, how'd it go? They've designed it so that the front and rear triangles are the same for both the Cassidy (180/165mm) and Blackthorn (160/140mm). Wicked deals on those frames right now so if it checks the mullet box that might make it jump to the top of my list

Its still way easier than World Champs. Either get a VPN and watch live, or wait 10-minutes after the live broadcast ends and watch the replay through RedBull TV. Considering its on a Saturday the latter is a great option because now you can go ride all day without feeling bad then watch Rampage over dinner and a beer.

Built up my V10 for this season with 155 Hope cranks to try them out and man i love them! Even thinking about putting some on my enduro bike (I am 6', but ride smaller bikes as well) Short cranks, high bars, mullet bike and shorter reach feels like I can just slam into every corner on any track and steer more with my feet. (sorry not tech rumors, but this thread, and Laurie and Jacksons cranks made me do it!)

It's not bad converting a 29 front end, you can get a lower headset cup that is extended to make up for the difference. If you have dual crowns, it's super easy, especially with a upper drop crown. Converting a small wheel to a big one will be much harder to preserve geometry, because you have no extra axle to crown length to use.

I'm very glad they were able to produce a bike with some cable ports and it weighs an extra 3 pounds. Seriously, I hope that trend goes back the other way and all bikes have AT LEAST a stick on cable mount package sold with the frame or make some holes in the frame with some high quality plugs and ditch the tube in tube that is probably expensive to get right. I think I called Xfusion for 3k in a previous post, but I also claimed they'd still ruin it with SX and they didn't so... Fair play Spesh. Still WHY WHY WHY couldn't they sort out base Deluxe or maybe Deluxe S+ shock if it's gonna be 3k. It's the only thing the bike needs. Sigh. Whatever could have been much worse. Ultimately I think that decision just guaranteed a lot more YT and Canyon and Polygon sales and shit. Could be wrong but I don't think the average rider getting their first FS bike is looking at 3k. Probably...

I do think bike geo will continue to evolve and I'd like to see taller stacks, longer chainstays, shorter stems in that 30mm range, and a bit steeper HTA of around 64.2' for even big bikes. This should result in a more upright position, better front wheel traction, the ability to manual easily, a lot of resistance to going OTB, while still managing overall length.
