10/14/2026 7:55am There are still plenty of purists who just don't want to ride an ebike, but still want an enduro bike. BUT, most 2020 enduro bikes ride just as good as a new one, AND, like mentioned before, a modular park/enduro bike makes more sense. RIP enduro.

10/7/2026 10:43am I will be SHOCKED if Althea doesn't get a win next year. I think it was whistler where she was like 4+ seconds faster than Vali. She was the fastest woman at several races this year.

10/6/2026 5:14am I have no real dog or insight on this whole thing, I just wanted to personally say I absolutely loathe the phrase "No friends on a powder day." Ski with your friends no matter what the conditions are and you'll have more fun. I think it's also pretty telling that the elite racers I've met have all been friendly if not friends with each other.

10/5/2026 6:28pm It’s a business, riders value is on current and possible future performance. Nina has been given everything she could of needed and hasn’t really performed and in my opinion it will be harder as she gets older to challenge the younger generation who have a much greater range of skills and marketability. Just an opinion though. Laurie was in the same boat and see where he went.

10/5/2026 5:40pm Pros: creates a pipeline of talent, helps prevent kids from moving up too quickly and dying out because they weren't fully ready Cons: expensive journey to elites that not everyone will be able to swing, could prevent kids that were ready for a factory team from getting there

10/5/2026 5:38pm I think from the ucis perspective jrs is a place for young athletes to compete against their age. Including the best of their age group. Personally I agree that age maybe isn’t actually the best way to determine a premier/lites division in downhill. But if anything I’d allow the kids more time to mature by raising that age limit or providing new criteria. Not allow younger riders to race elites. In supercross they have removed teens from the 250 class. I don’t think it’s going to negatively impact anyone’s future and will likely actually be much healthier for those guys...

10/5/2026 5:42pm Latter point is valid, but anyone in any for-profit industry needs to be reminded on the daily that they're not working for a family, they're working for a business. No friends on a balance sheet just like there's no friends on a powder day *edit to include Nina's influence on bike sales and rider development could be just as fiscally...

10/2/2026 1:57pm There is still water, just not delivered to the entire course via hose. Dig teams have to carry it to the features from fill stations at the top and bottom. What I think it will do is isolate the large manicured features to a couple per line plus some more raw connectors which will be cool. There is still going to be some enormous stuff with huge landings, but they won’t be immediately preceded or followed by another monumental build.

10/2/2026 1:55pm I know we are mostly gravity oriented here, but the Cannondale Factory (XC) team is shutting down and Maxime Marotte announced that Origine Racing Division will be without Origine come 2027. Origine said that they will continue as a frame sponsor some place else. The Cannondale development leaves a lot of quick people looking for teams next year, although I am sure they must have something arranged already. In other XC topics, I wish people would talk more about what happened to Chiara Teocchi. She is left paralyzed and was fighting for her dear life a some weeks ago. It...

10/2/2026 1:52pm Had a delayed thought now that Hattie took home the gates purse - not seeing any brands immediately abandoning their gearbox bikes, which would imply they were developing them for more than just the potential of a $100k bonus? Anyone aware of riders switching to non-belt driven options?

10/2/2026 1:51pm Shop guys pretty regularly see just about any frame on earth broken, and it really doesn't often turn any of us off a brand. The forces bikes see are both pretty dynamic and pretty crazy at times, especially considering how much we expect this premium stuff to weigh. Seeing a broken V-10 doesn't make me want to avoid them, it makes me curious how fuckin' hard the rider was going. The general public does not always understand that stuff does just break. We get people in daily who tell us we couldn't pay them to ride carbon, then we grab...
