Don't sell yourself short @AndehM. Your beer per brake tracks tho. Editors note: This may be the root cause of a LOT of my dumb bike problems.

Added a couple new notches in the idiot belt recently: My Maven brakes started getting air in the levers and fouling bleeds fairly quickly. First the front, then the rear, then the front again. WTF? Wandering bite point and general ranting ensues for a bit... Further investigation reveals that I had not tightened the hose compression nut to the lever anywhere near the proper 8nm torque. I got at lest a turn and a half on each nut with the crow foot torque wrench. Fresh bleed and haven't had an issue yet this season. Ran the loose hoses for at...

I second all the cleaning/heating/etc. tip to get it on correctly, reserve or dt swiss tape, and the 45 degree angle. Are you by chance a fellow OCD person that, once both beads are in the channel, wiggles the tire a few millimeters this way or that to perfectly line up the logos on the valve stems? If so, I'd recommend using bead cream when installing the tires. While I can keep tape on for years, the ends coming up are definitely the first way it starts getting ragged. I just had to retape a rim because of a damaged...

I used to have a shitty bike rack you could pretty easily just steal off the car if you wanted, and I had to head into the shop. I was so proud of my idea to back up perfectly to a pole so I could lock my bike to the pole without having to take it off the rack. Came out of the shop, jump in my car and promptly ripped my bike off the rack driving away breaking the straps it was attached with and giving it a big ol scratch.

Any chance we can take this ebike power rules chat to a new thread? A few pages ago it was fascinating reading about Alta's struggle and DJI's structure vs old school German power.

I disagree that surrons and e-motos aren’t any different to the toys of yesteryear. As you said, there are quantifiable differences between the tech and with that the capacity for kids to do harm to themselves or others. The kids aren’t at fault for this but the backlash/regulation is entirely justified imo

Please let’s not start that ”it’s too bike park” track talk again, we all know how it went with Poland. Just wait until we see riders riding it.

Can I ask who's posting the XC course build? You can check live webcams to see some of the snow situation. http://ski.atik.kr/#mona/2 Base Overview is where the XC course will be. The treeline in the center of the shot is where some of those photos were taken. Mega Green Slope is where the DH finish area will be or the track will run through it. It was another dry winter, so most of the snow is man-made. The forest areas aren't going to be very thick, mostly over-spray. The open slopes is another story. By the end of April, the...

Oh my golly gosh. That is the crazy club. Welcome to Darkfest 2026. Can you please show some side views of the jumps with a person standing there to give you a perspective of the MEGA SIZE of the earth works. This is in my opinion the BEST EVENT of the year. Sam and Theo shaking with fear.

We will see. Unlike most people in this thread, I'm not as much of a believer that $100/bbl oil = more (specialty bike) sales. It may drive some mobility e bike sales, but I don't think its the needle mover everyone else thinks it is, especially when it comes to mountain biking. Also, as a reminder, oil was over $100/bbl for most of the early 2010s and I don't remember it being a huge driver to the bicycle industry's success. Energy costs eat into everything and generally leaves people feeling poorer. Its inflationary. So if anything I'm more a believer...

I’m being sarcastic because most the women in my family would find a documentary featuring athletes discussing “menstruation and body image” more insulting than inspiring. It’s a sarcastic comment that didn’t come across well at all in text. I get for as many women in the “don’t define me by my gender” camp there are plenty in the celebrate my gender and body camp. And again I’m pretty hopeful they’ll actually do a good job with it and it will not be patronizing. i apologize my comment came across so poorly.

The first prototypes were very exciting, but definitely didn't look like something that could command much money! The first pic is an example of one of the early prototypes that didn't look very good, and didn't work well either! The second pic is a later-generation prototype where I definitely started to say out loud, "Damn, this thing looks sick!". Even at this stage, we didn't have a full understanding of the costs, as we were still trying to get a certain level of performance out of it and weren't there yet.

So likely to increase the amount of hog-wash and propaganda I need to avoid on mainstream news and media. But probably have zero impact on World Cups? Except maybe needing three more add-ons to my subscription to watch 😂☠️
