I’m on team DOT. It’s unbelievably easy to clean properly compared to always feeling like there’s mineral oil residue on everything even after an alcohol spray and wipe. Spilled DOT? Hose it down with water and move on with your life.

Yeah I never got it either - it makes zero difference to which I choose, although more and more seem to be mineral now so its harder to get a way from. I figured its a misguided assumption that mineral oil is more environmentally friendly - but both are pretty terrible in reality. I am literally soaked in mineral oil every day and still don't like the stuff! DOT fluid is the worst if you are made from paint, but its only an issue if you don't clean things up properly. Otherwise mineral is way more of a pain to...

It is what it is. Axing the bloated live broadcast is the only way to save the event. Do a waiting period like surfing, film a production on the spot, cut a live premier show hours after the event. Would love to know what specific element of the broadcast requires them to run a single day event... Simply no respect to the weather report. I'd reckon the riders would agree on pushing a day forward vs such a high risk of cancellation. How many years can we do the wind thing? Usually it's just a second run issue, and now...

I hope we go back to snowshoe and don't return to Lake Placid, the builders did their best, but when nimbys get to veto track layout it's just frustrating. Maybe now that Vail resorts has hosted a WC we can go to one of their US resorts?

We sure want to see the Q1, and Q2 it doesn't have to have a broadcast so to speak. They could just post the raw video of what they show on the video screens in the finish area. Fans could just download the video files to watch them. I'd even pay a fee to watch it. We are certainly missing out on some exciting racing in the qualification runs. We should be able to see them.

gutted for local girl Sam going 11th in juniors girls. home country race and just off the mark. her first full (or nearly full) season doing all the races including EU and she showed promise. full on privateer, go fund me, local shop type racer. well played, lady. now come back and win more of these US races.

Every single rider (except Reece) who has hit this rut right at the top has hit either a derailleur or pedal, sometimes both. There is going to be a mechanical at some point if they hit it hard enough.

Genie Zeb sounds like unnecessary “tech” that mostly exists for marketing and branding… but that seems to be the Specialized brand identity right now.

Quick observations from the first looks through socials: Women got the bigger side of the mountain (looker's right). Which means the men's field is more cramped into a tighter space, so my prediction is we'll see a lot of shared features between the men's lines. Brett Rheeder is back on the mountain, but this time as a digger for Tommy G. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think we've seen a former champ return as a member of a dig crew before. Interesting, that's for sure. The water thing definitely seems to make it harder to build properly...

Bet big on Lachie, so that rear wheel explosion hurts! Somehow didn't lose that many positions. I like that the budget+cost no longer favours a bunch of underdogs, but I do wish we could afford 2 top males and 2 top females + juniors. And I mean this just for engagement during the race, it's more fun when you have more fantasy riders to root for. Currently to get a team of 4+ elites, you are mostly taking underdogs. Haven't done any maths on whether more-mid works out better than a few top riders.
