2/5/2025 2:48am Re BK's bike. Look at the angle of the rear wheel as he lands. And the audio is muted on his POV clip in his video when he hits the drop: https://youtu.be/smvc8h3F47Q?si=EsZcoCKF79KcXaHy&t=1098

2/5/2025 2:48am Its some form or air+coil shock they are working on. It was on an Alutech bike at the Craft Bike Days show back in november as well - I have a bunch of screenshots from it. But intend hasnt released any info other than its not being released any time soon (said a few months ago) They also have an airshock without the dual chambers in the works, so probably a twin tube design, for bikes that cant fit their normal Hover. Not sure if its something that we'll ever see - But this is one of the few pics...

2/1/2025 1:45am I just made an account to make this comment, I'm the guy in that video. They definitely felt bizarre and completely wrong the first couple days with them, which is all we showed in the video. After riding them more I started to love them, and I'll get them on again once the bike park opens. They're not an advantage over normal chainless riding, they're just goofy and fun. Lots of people reached out to buy a set from us, but ours was just a one off we made. If those people put their money where their mouth is that...

2/1/2025 1:43am Not really a rumor but perhaps an innovation, but could see these being popular with the no drivetrain Whistler crowd and folks who have a pumptrack only kinda bike. Paging Remy Morton MOTOCRANX

1/30/2025 10:41pm Believe it or not, I have one on my bike, and a chain on a few other bikes. Bending with and without load is not the same thing, and the energy used by bending a belt is fairly constant, while chains friction increases with power. There's a dedicated thread to all this now, just saying like someone else mentioned, there's a lot of confirmation bias and a huge echo chamber talking about drag, but I literally just have 2 bikes next to me, one with a belt, and one with a chain I didn't lube after riding yesterday. There's no difference worth...

1/30/2025 12:14pm re: derailleur in a can, found @Dave_Camp's dc special video from 2007 or 8 maybe? (it may be blocked in some countries due to my using destiny's child or ciara or tlc or someone as the background music LOL. if no one can see it, i'll try to get rid of the music)

1/29/2025 10:23pm The common thread in all of this is the name you keep dropping, and the one that has disappeared from our lexicon: WBD and UCI. WBD is a for profit organization, they're going to try to make profit from things they spend money on. The problem is that the UCI sold DHMTB broadcast rights during a bubble as a money maker to WBD, but in reality, it was already a stone with not a lot of blood (profit) left to be squeezed from it, and certainly not the legs to become some F1 scale thing (and if you've watched much...

1/29/2025 10:19pm Who will the wildcards be? I wonder if they skip Goodman SantaCruz and Rogue Racing (secondary teams for a brand, or not the premier team for a frame sponsor) to give them to Yeti and Gwin (top level teams for frame sponsors)? Here's where we're at with all the UCI website team total points from finals. I went through every team to final all the riders that have points, although it looks like a couple of the minor teams might be folding or moving to continental such as Propain, Evolve, Meekboyz etc.

1/29/2025 4:18am This is the (Horst) linkage, defining the axle path: This drives the shock: If it's the same colour, it's a single piece. The chainstay of the horst link has an extension, to which the red short link attaches and pulls down on it to rotate the silver rocker, driving the shock.

1/29/2025 12:47am New aluminum dh/freeride bike from Chromag? From Max Grayston in his latest IG post. Looks like it has a pretty similar rocker and same rear dropout as the Lowdown. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFNkX6CpPg5/?utm_source=ig_web_button_share…

1/26/2025 8:58am I also recognize that top link but can't place it. But I've absolutely seen it before. It looks a little like a Vitus Sommet 297 link, but it looks a lot like an Airdrop Edit MX link:. Did I scroll through this entire list of 186 bike companies to find these two examples? Maybe. Did it feel better to scratch that itch, and help me avoid doing homework? Absolutely.

1/26/2025 8:55am My plug told me its from a Canadian brand. After thinking for a bit I had to check the Chromag full suspension frames and they have a similar rocker and dropouts. I have recently seen a new AL chromag DJ prototype too si it seems like they are about to offer more alloy frames which would go well with this Freeride frame. Also Max has the bike fully decked out with Chromag parts.
