The rules for DH are almost as simple as saying that whoever rides a bike from the top to the bottom fastest while staying in the track limits wins, and I love it. Any type of hyper specific equipment rules like those in road racing or ski racing just limits the innovation that's required to be the fastest. If somebody wants to wear ankle weights or put oobleck in their tires because they think it's better, then they should let them. Let the fastest rider win. Shake weight in the steerer tube? Sure. Hamster bottle for the rear brake? Have...

I’m glad the the UCI have spent the time and effort to investigate this and make their judgement. I’ve notice on IG, FB and PB there are a lot of guys getting upset about this and I feel that this says a lot about them. This has been an investigation that’s taken months since the accusation and they’ve kept his name out of the media until now. So it shows that they were taking it seriously. Hopefully the replies on here will be better than on the others.

Yeah, it's just how LLMs work. They're statistical language models that generate plausible sounding nonsense.

AI chatbots only regurgitate words it's found online in a different order, so the better option would be to see what actual dirt jumpers do, rather than using a glorified thesaurus to do your thinking for you. AI has its place for consolidating information, but this isn't it.

Redbull and Freecaster were better for two reasons: 1. I knew how and where i was going to watch a race, no matter where I was, every single season. 2. Rob. And not just Rob, but the money Redbull pumped into him to have him learn to go from stealing Cedric;s beers in the Freecaster booth, to someone who could announce an F1 race if they needed him to. No matter his co-announcer, save for Elliot who's been a perfect match up so far, he became the official voice during Hill's Val De Sol disaster in 08 and that built...

In France, so different market, but not too different story occuring on the online marketplaces. I just sold my Giant Reign e-bike bought for 6k in 2023 with 2 batteries, sold for 2.8k with both batteries. Bike went in 2 weeks, I looked on the local equivalent of craigslist, people were trying to sell their 2020 version for 3-4k for months, so I asked for the same price as the lowest 2023 bike I could see, knowing mine was in better condition and got 3 offers, sold at asking price. I think some sellers have a distorted view of their...

This is a bit like asking what is the correct stance in snowboarding, goofy or regular? There is no "correct", it's whatever works best for you.

It must be true that cast is run by athletes and not by a competent marketing team. Just sad that those proceeds likely will not trickle back to those riders, but instead might need to invest in redoing all their branding if they don't want to run the risk of getting sued by the worlds biggest bicycle manufacturer. Cadex components (high end component brand from Giant group) has a pretty identical logo , and they are making stems, handlebars and tires too... so far they have been focusing on road and gravel but i can't see them being happy with...

Long time listener, first time caller here. These by-pass tubes are a version of position sensitive dampers. In the race car world in series where these can exist, they are a great sounding concept that can be made difficult if you try to use them for super precise applications. Knowing exactly what ride height you encounter the condition you want to control is difficult. If you are simply trying to increase damping as you get closer to bottoming out, the decision gets simpler. But in that case, mountain bikes already have some easier ways of getting that behavior with air...

The move to 160mm is irrelevant if, like the 165mm Turbine, they are eternally and perpetually out of stock in the spindle size needed at any given moment.
