Laser cutting hardened steel results in pretty significant stresses due to the thermal differential. I’ve never seen steel come off the bed, hardened or not, that was flat after being cut by a laser. Lots of post work is required to result in rotors that don’t suck (imo). Stamping doesn’t mean that it’s garbage. I would suspect there is a lot more going on behind the scenes than people think to get “good” rotors. If I'm doing the math right, with the slim driver, the both flanges move 4.5mm to the right, and the wheel should have symmetric bracing left and right. Probably want to use a rim without offset nipples. Should make for a strong wheel, stronger actually than a conventional 157, due to the symmetric bracing.

I think Fillmore and Click are trying to solve two different problems. If someone could figure out how to combine the two, that would be pretty sweet. for the sake of my own future knowledge, I got 4 220mm 2.2mm rotors to try on the ebikes. Clearly stamped, However and as much as I don't want to admit, these were possibly the straightest 220mm rotors I've bought. Will see how they go.

I'm not saying no one should use them. I'm just saying like everything else they have pros and cons so whether or not they're the best choice for someone depends on a number of factors. In the summer when I'm hitting higher speeds I just prefer the support of a standard casing. In the winter when things are wet I find the radials work better because I need all the compliance/grip I can get. Horses for courses.
