Current conditions on Fitz side - fairly dry in woods, wet in open, not raining, some sun coming out. Also Spomer’s new album cover.

I think if you put a check mark beside the name of each rider that’s posted a pic of the bike park bears you’d have all the European ones covered

You mean the screw here on the upper right? That’s a plugged bore that we need to create the caliper’s oil channel. After forging the one-piece caliper, a drill goes in there and connects both sides of the caliper. There’s no other way to manufacture it. You can also understand it with a look at the previously shared "oil channel"-cut-image. After manufacturing, this screw is never removed again. It simply plugs the bore in the caliper. Disclaimer: there may be a delay now in answering your questions as our German Team will be out of Office now. It’s night in...

What do you mean with brake rubbing? Two answers: Caliper Alignment: The caliper alignment is much easier because you now have more pad cleareance compared to MT7. The piston retraction is at least 50 % more. And we´ve developed a new smart Piston Alignment Tool to make caliper alignment easier. It e nsures that all caliper pistons are aligned exactly symmetrically. This creates the best conditions for precise and uncomplicated alignment of the brake caliper. Further advantages include more even wear of the brake pads, a defined pressure point, and reduced braking and riding noise. You can find it here...

Trek has been making some interesting moves in BC. They told a bunch of A-level stores that they essentially had to become concept stores (80% of floor space dedicated to Trek and Bontrager) or they would get dropped, got told to f-off by those stores, dropped them, and now: are in the process of massively increasing the number of dealers in some areas without concern for overlap gave their A-level bike accounts to powersports stores in the region I wonder if this is happening elsewhere in Canada. They didn't really have anything to buy in the first place and their...

Not necessarily a tech rumour, but PB posted an interesting article regarding pedal kickback (or lack thereof, unless you experience very fast (6m/s) shock compression paired with very slow bike speed). Worth the read if you haven't yet, and there are some nifty graphs. I think the next task of whoever did the testing should be on steerer tube shake weights.

A buddy had a spare Brose battery when he owned a Levo. I borrowed it once for a ride in Santa Cruz, did 2/3 of both batteries and tapped out after that because I was so fatigued overall that I was worried I was going to crash on something minor. IIRC I did like 9,700' which is less than you'd...

Except I haven’t seen Polygon or Ari totally hang their athletes out to dry. If they’ll publicly do that, imagine the shafting they’d give a customer in private.

I reached out to sram asking about availability of the pre-sram service kits, and they said they would be available for sale soon but in the meantime sent me a kit at no charge. For what it's worth, this was the most recent ochain R, older versions might be a different story.

They did the same for me, which wasn't especially helpful given my affinity for Shimano cranks. Fortunately my customer service guy mentioned that they ARE planning on bringing back service kits for older models with some tweaks. He said to anticipate those sometime late summer. I can't help but feel like SRAM's decision to cut support for non-SRAM mount patterns was a massive favor to Rimpact...I prefer the Ochain overall, but the Rimpact device is pretty damn good too.
