8/30/2024 9:31am That is a good suggestion though. A post run media availability tent for post qualifying interviews. Riders MUST go in and be made available for 10-20 minutes to media if in the top 20. Top 60 have an auto-invite but not mandatory. Gets you face time if you're up and coming to attend. Start 30 minutes after the last rider crosses the finish. Top 10 file in for 10 minutes. Clock dings. Next 10 in. Media would thin out after top riders are made available. 1 hour interview session. Done.

8/30/2024 7:41am From the looks of it, it pretty much looks like a flow EX3 rim. I might be wrong but it wouldn't be surprising that they would run other brand's rim for testing/performance purposes (didn't they ran crankbrother wheels before they came up with enve's prototype ?)

8/29/2024 6:15pm The downside for me personally has to do with spending that much time away from my family. My comment wasn’t meant to suggest anything negative about Taiwan itself. I place a high value on getting to be at home with my family every night. I have spent the majority of my career in manufacturing and it’s a lesson I learned...

8/29/2024 6:03pm I was actually in talks to do some contract work at Pinkbike on their buy/sell page, but they stopped responding after looking thru my comment history. Then I got permanently banned.

8/29/2024 3:17pm Exactly on all of this but I'd add if you ride lots of chunk and roots (even on flatter XC style trails) skip the flex stay pivots.

8/29/2024 3:14pm It's just one data point but I had a WW Spur and swapped over most of the build to a Smuggler frame and the Smuggler is considerably faster everywhere. Even on more mellow trails. And that's after I had to 'up' the tires a bit on the (edited) Smuggler to better match its capabilities. For me, it was a very positive change. Although I had some really fun rides during my 2 years on the Spur, I never really gelled with it. Really, I found it to pedal bob too much, not absorb chatter well enough, and struggle with front...

8/29/2024 3:09pm There is only one AP and that is Aaron Plessinger. 🤣 When you rock a cowboy hat and mullet like that dude does, you get to own the nickname across all two wheeled sports.

8/28/2024 2:41pm Also traveling to Taiwan multiple time a year does not sound fun. I spent some time in the industry as an engineer and thankfully never had to do that, but it seemed like I was lucky in that regards as most people on the product side of businesses seem to make 3-4 trips there per year. Honestly in my experience...

8/28/2024 7:09am Because pro athletes are generally paid to use and promote the MTB product regardless of how they feel about it’s safety (current exception is the a stars riders who are all using the moto helmet). Designing for only high impact speeds was the old way of thinking until 6D came in and revolutionized the moto helmet industry. Now a days...

8/28/2024 6:57am Just got a new Fox Rampage Pro Carbon and I'm super impressed. It's light, comfy, surprisingly well ventilated, and light. I'm happy that full faces are getting bigger in general. I'm no scientist, but I have done an egg drop experiment in middle school and I know that a bigger helmet has more room for the squishy parts that protect your brain. Compared to my old D2's and D3's it's just a much bigger bubble around my brain. It's also very, very expensive, so that sucks, but it's a very cool product. Coming off a nine year old D3 so...

8/28/2024 6:53am #USDH going strong in junior men. Asa, Bode, Gavin, Ryder and Lucas all qualify top 20. Three of them top ten. Two of them podium quali times. Legit!

8/27/2024 9:19pm Hey, yes these are from CounterShox. the blue one on the fork is straight off the moto bike. I tested on my Yamaha 450 first and then had to try on DH bike. I knew it would have a bigger effect. The mount is off a 85cc dirt bike, they have the same diameter clamp as dorado. The one mounted to the seattube is lighter, about 1lb. I 3D printed a mount so it doesn’t rub again the frame. These TMD are not adjustable, from talking to the folks at CounterShox, they have put so much R&D into weights, springs...

8/27/2024 9:04pm Not really, unless you are like a very specific marketing or engineer or tech support. Anything else from HR to purchasing, sales, demand planning, production planning, warehouse management, accounting, IT and anything else really require a similar skill set to any other sector of business. I went from demand planning at a Bike Parts & Accessories distributor to demand planing for an hardware store company and the job is pretty much the same. But salary and benefits are way better outside of the bike industry.

8/27/2024 2:24pm If I remember correctly, in a podcast Greg said that his deal includes after he retires, running the team, developing the bike. I would imagine he wants to have a similar role like Peaty does with Santa Cruz.

8/27/2024 12:01pm Hopefully he stays involved with the Norco team for a few years. Otherwise, this makes Santa Cruz’s decision look very smart and makes me think “Oof, poor Norco and the people that got canned to pay him”
