9/12/2024 7:10pm When I read this (welcomed) derailment I wonder if I even know bikes, I thought it was as simple as this; bike has two wheels, is funner with gravity, unless gravity is opposing direction of movement. Buttt it appears they are a little more complex than that.

9/12/2024 7:10pm I have yet to bend my XX cage but it is really flimsy. It appears that SRAM has moved the sacrificial part from hanger to cage. There is a solution however: https://cascadecomponents.bike/products/transmission-derailleur-cage This cascade cage appears to be pretty burly and costs slightly more than OEM. Your friends should try going this route when they break the next one.

9/12/2024 7:06pm Not for the race promoter... While we may not see ebike racing on a world level, someone will grab that ball and figure out a way to make something happen... Ebikes sales are one of the bright spots for the industry right now..

9/12/2024 8:26am Easy there comrade 😜 I totally agree that that's the case for the majority of people in the world , especially these days . But that post was specifically about Chris Ball who all things considered, I believe, has done pretty well for himself over the last few years. So if someone who can afford to say NO to his corporate overlords doesn't , then what chance do the rest of us have . Chris Ball is not the poster child for the oppressed worker . Anyway, pleased it looks like Atherton racing might continue .

9/11/2024 9:57pm But you can put on an event that people want to attend . The crowds at Maydena prove that , I remember taking my boy round the pits at a tweed valley round on the Thursday and he had a great time getting stickers and swag , to this day his favorite bike brand is YT because they gave him a big bag of stuff . How you package Enduro as a professional sport with coverage has always been a tough question and I always personally preferred the photo epics you used to get on PB and Vital rather than...

9/11/2024 9:18am And every single metric socket had a standard sized driver. Still does world wide today. I was just a joke, I use metric all day at work. Most of the time Americans measure distance in time anyways. Question: How far is it? Answer: About an hour.

9/11/2024 9:12am Don't. I've been there with a commute of ~50mins each way and while I miss the podcast time, the 8 minute cycle commute I now have is infinitely better. Somewhat back on topic, I'm curious if Needle's last chance qualifier campaign got any traction with the powers that be.

9/10/2024 10:25pm FMD have the same problem Atherton did. To sponsor their marquee rider you have to pay for the entire team as well (and FMD have always had a weak lineup apart from Tahnee). In the end Atherton had to start their own brand (with outside investment) as there was no one left willing to spend that much ......Also Tony is a dick. The days of them being sponsored by Nissan or Jeep are long gone (they used to be one of the very few directly sponsored by Shimano). Rach and Gee were their draw to non endemic promotion. Dan and...

9/10/2024 10:23pm It was Q Bikes originally with Cathro, Mick Pascal and Spagnolo. Then Lapierre with Vouillioz, Hart, Blenki and eventually Loris and Loic. Pretty impressive evolution over the years.

9/10/2024 5:20pm The new HR uses a different butyl sidewall insert than the rest of the current DH line with the goal of creating a more stable and damped (dampened) casing.

9/8/2024 8:21pm Neko said they were out of contract. Obviously with Dorval closing Benoit is without a team.Reese has had another rough season so expected Trek to drop him. Both Andy and Charlie signed 3 year contracts to take them till 2026, if Neko is correct and Andy is a free agent that must mean Atherton Racing is no more. Continental must be either spread thin or very heavily invested supporting GT,Atherton and Pivot teams.I can see them rationalizing their commitments.

9/8/2024 8:21pm I’m sure it was mentioned in 2024 rumours? Makes sense to me. Athertons can’t be producing enough 3D printed bikes to fund a big factory race team like they have now. And I think it was mentioned that GT/Conti were struggling to make it work with 2025 calendar and regulations? I’d be surprised if Danny signed anything more than a 1 year deal though, it seemed like a last resort kind of thing to get him to the world cups.
