10/11/2024 11:21am Slightly off-topic, but Brembo just bought Ohlins: https://www.reuters.com/markets/deals/brembo-buys-suspension-maker-ohli… "The group has 500 employees across two production facilities, in Sweden and Thailand, two R&D centres and four distribution and testing branches in the U.S., Germany, Thailand and Sweden, Brembo said. "As we join forces with Brembo, we are excited to unlock new growth opportunities and leverage our respective strengths and assets to drive innovation and deliver even greater value to our customers and employees,” said Tom Wittenschlaeger, CEO of Ohlins Racing. 10/10/2024 6:11am Pretty sure they could whip him up exactly what he wanted in an aluminum mule in a few days. They are the only major manufacture producing in-house in North America.

10/10/2024 6:06am As an event announcer myself I will say it is totally plausible that the announcer forgot in the moment it was top 3 for the overall. Even at the world cup level no one gives the announcers a script of the podiums, they just get an overall points sheet for the updated overall standings and then call the appropriate numbers of riders to that podium for each class. There are a lot of podiums at the final race, so easy for something to slip... Based on Marcus J's observation that Myriam and Nina weren't ready and the champagne bottles had...

10/8/2024 6:03am Interestingly, I view GT and Cannondale as the same as far as premium level goes. I haven’t seen them much outside of REIs for a while (in Colorado at least). It seems like PON have the syndicate as their gravity race team and Cannondale factory as their endurance race team. It’d be surprising to see them expand that with the...

10/8/2024 5:56am The issue with Cannondale is that they are a PON owned brand. While PON has deep pockets, they already have Santa Cruz as their halo racing brand. PON shut down the GT factory team last year, I think it's unlikely they bring a Cannondale factory team back.

10/6/2024 2:28pm Basically whats old is new again, RS used to have goldish stanchions anyways, then in 2001 they came out with a Ti Nitride as you mentioned but it was rubbish and flaked off, they also have gold legs on a Psylo this was 23 years ago before Fox even had a fork im pretty sure. They do say that plagiarism is the highest form of flattery.

10/5/2024 12:52pm Not to mentioned they fired/laid-off a ton of staff in between the shutting down of the team and the Greg signing. Interesting to see what comes next.

10/5/2024 12:48pm There are a few reasons why we haven't done crowns. 1. To be honest unless you go really wild with offset, it's an adjustment you get used to and no longer feel. I've gone back and forth between 50 mm offsets on my trail bikes to match my DH bike and then 44 mm offset on my DH bike to match my trail bike and found it takes less than a day to get accustomed to the change. I actually spoke with the guy who did the Outsider adjustable crowns about this and he had the same experience. So to...

10/5/2024 7:33am The bike is not fun to ride in this setting. (setup for countershox but removed). Much more feedback to my hands and less planted bike. It felt like it was deflecting all the way down the trail. I did a test recording axle and bar movements with and without countershox. There is an article on PB that has all the graphs and results. https://www.pinkbike.com/news/first-look-countersycles-tuned-mass-dampe… I have no horse in the race, I’m just a rider who’s trying to make his bike feel awesome and enjoys testing. I’ve tried a lot of stuff on my bike that didn’t make a difference...

10/4/2024 8:55am Their dealer email stated the below: Why the Sale? We’re running this massive sale to clear out the warehouse and generate the cashflow needed to invest in exciting new products currently in development. As the market continues to become more competitive, we need to rebalance our stock while investing in prototypes, extensive testing, and tooling for the future models we plan to launch next year and in the future.

10/4/2024 8:50am I’d be curious to hear about how the bike feels with the spring and damper settings for the CounterShoxs, but with the CounterShox removed. I think it’d be a way to flush out the difference in feel even more

10/4/2024 8:44am We ran DH races at Whiteface as part of the GES series 2007-2010 when the bike park was operational. The 2009 and 2010 races the times were 8 minutes plus with a few pros getting under 8 minutes(Neko Mulally won Pro with a 7.48)I know that UCI will not want a course that long but the . terrain is there with lift access

10/4/2024 8:42am You're missing out on the fact that the teams are private businesses and they don't have to hire anyone. If they don't want someone with potential baggage, that's their prerogative. Given that racing is essentially done exclusively for marketing, it's no surprise that the big teams are taking a pass on him. There's not some grand conspiracy trying to hold back your boy, just businesses doing cost/benefit analysis to what he'd bring to their brand image.

10/2/2024 7:10pm At least where I live, a lot of those 90's MTBs are still kicking around, still being used for what they do best, leisure rides and conmuting. Even if you want a brand new bike, the now named ATB (All Terrain Bike) is rissing in popularity in both sides of the atlantic ocean. Simple machines meant to go places... As much as I love tech and innovation, I believe the humble, plain and simple, good old bicycle, the one that get used daily, is the most important bike there is. SUV ebikes are ok too, I find very dificult to...
