The XCO track in Roanoke is such an embarrassment. We have the best crop of xc racers in 30 years, but we are making them race on a track that wasn’t good enough for local racing in the 90’s. If you have a junior that is interested in racing, they better have a front row call-up because the track has zero passing opportunities, no selective features and a paved start into the first singletrack that is about 25 seconds long. With less than 30 elite men and women, a horrificly unsuitable track is less of a problem, but it sucks...

Absolutely amazing concept! As mountain bike riders we don’t have many riding specific training programs! I am very excited to be a part of this community and get stronger mentally and physically!

Don't think anyone who saw Meier Smith (even before he signed at Giant) didn't think he'd win a World Cup. Hindsight being 20/20, there was an edit of him hitting a park in Australia few years back I immediately thought he would win World Cups. Came back from the Lake placid race! Thanks to all of you who suggested watching the juniors up top and moving down the track as the elites came down, it was an amazing experience. I also watched the XCO on Sunday, which was a real treat - modern XC is really great to speculate, probably even better than DH even though I'm a DH fan. I went against on the speculator path next to the track and was able to see riders consistently pop up over the 8 laps, before going to the finish straight to see the final sprint...

At this point , we desperately need a "simulcast" audio commentary that we can sync to a muted broadcast. There has to be 2 or 3 dudes out there with the knowledge , wit and skill to save us from the WB offering , which seems to be getting worse rather than better and is detracting from the pleasure of watching WCDH racing for a lot of people.

Kind of also Tire Talk, but having run (and despised) the Tacky Chan as a front tire, I find it so interesting that Amaury Pierron runs them front and rear. Seems like most racers are running something like a Magic Mary, Kryptotal Fr, or Assegai in the front that’s a bit more forgiving of lean angle, but maybe the benefit for Amaury besides out and out rolling speed is the “commit or die” cornering style that the TC forces. Thoughts, anyone?
