Great episode per usual. I really, really enjoyed the segment where Dak was talking about "decision fatigue." While he would clearly love to have someone to make some of the decisions for him, I can't help but wonder how hard that would be for a rider. There are some wild levels of trust that have developed in the teams who have line spotters, mechanics, etc.. making the decisions for the riders around kit and setup. I'm sure Dak would have loved for someone to have said, "I'm putting Wet Screams on your bike. That's what you're running." But I can...

I'm heading down in October for Trans Sierra Norte and I couldn't be more pumped!!!

The interviews with riders are awesome, we need more. But what the world cup scene is lacking is 'news coverage' like a reporter who works the hill all day, asking questions, reporting, etc. Then has a 5 minute 'broadcast' that is edited down to a recap of everything that went on in the day (course drama, flat tires, crashes, wild rides, rider comments, etc.). What happened in peoples runs, etc. It shouldn't just be WBD's broadcast during the race days.

That is a good suggestion though. A post run media availability tent for post qualifying interviews. Riders MUST go in and be made available for 10-20 minutes to media if in the top 20. Top 60 have an auto-invite but not mandatory. Gets you face time if you're up and coming to attend. Start 30 minutes after the last rider crosses the finish. Top 10 file in for 10 minutes. Clock dings. Next 10 in. Media would thin out after top riders are made available. 1 hour interview session. Done.

Last time an elite female won a UCI WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP from USA, Leigh Donovan in 1995, Kirchzarten Germany-29yrs ago! (I was her mechanic then 70,000 people PAID $20usd to get into the gates at that race). We need some USA action back on top!

Heard a rumor, that Aletha blew up her 275 rear wheel before finals-did not have a spare wheel, so put a 29 rear wheel in!!! That is kinda crazy to ride a completely different setup going anti mullet and still winning. To think what she would have done with her normal season long setup!

The issue is that the UCI has stated, and we keep seeing from interviews, that the World Cups are going to get smaller. And most people agree that smaller world cups are ok as long as there is still a way to get experience and earn your way into the world cup. That is where a feeder series comes in, as many have noted before. And if there is any series that currently functions as a feeder, and would be supported by the UCI as a feeder, it's the iXS cup.
