12/18/2024 1:07pm This is making no sense at all, you can't ''pause'' a brand, lay off staff & athletes just to try to position yourself as a premium brand the year after. They're actually doing the complete opposite of what's required to reposition GT as a premium brand within the next two years.

12/15/2024 9:37am I like the fact that when they don't work One Up will pretty much just send you a new cartridge without worrying if the post is in it's warranty period or not. They even sent me some socks one time since I had a spate of bad cartridges. They also sent me 50% off after losing an EDC pump when one of their older thinner pump straps broke. The OneUp post is pretty much the only product on my bike that's failed multiple times that I am still a diehard fan of because of the simplicity of the rebuild and...

12/14/2024 5:21pm BY burned by Sram? What does this relate to? FWIW, when we were discussing how simple it is to make a wirless conversion, it's not THAT easy. Easy in principle as you need some kind of motor/actuator pushing the interface of the post, some electronics to do the communication, a remote and some way for the two to communicate. What that means is you need to handle the mechanics of the actuator. A motor, some geartrain, something to press the thing in the post. You need a battery and some way to charge it. Some control electronics to talk to...

12/12/2024 8:24pm Seems surprising given that GasGas' parent company is undergoing self administered bankruptcy. Can't be too much budget for them or Husqvarna in the cycling world.

12/12/2024 7:57pm Is this Saint Charles, IA actually Iowa?!?! Does that mean the DH team, or some sponsor, base is in Iowa? How do you run a downHILL team in Iowa haha, I've been there and didn't see any hill. Just curious!

12/12/2024 7:56pm When you digging for cash, racing would be one of the first things to go. Trek's probably hurting the worst out of all the big names. They'll have sponsored athletes at races but I don't think it's gonna be anywhere near as big for a few years.

12/12/2024 7:54pm I’d like to see Trek, Transition and other US based bike manufacturers really focus on USDH with support and dedicated teams.

12/12/2024 7:53pm Regional DH racing in Colorado/New Mexico has been growing big time the last few years, lots of young racers coming up. The new "SoCal" DH series last year, Neko/Gwinn and company killing it on the East Coast, and the US Open rolling strong. I'd much rather see North American DH racing grow and spread than the UCI-Euro-Cup money grab that Chris Ball has fostered. Bring back the old days when all the fast Euros and Aussies came over to the US to race and make $!

12/4/2024 7:42pm In all fairness I think speed+style became a bit stale. Early on it was quite fun, but courses got shorter and more flow-y and the points for each trick became pretty well defined resulting in min-maxxing on the jumps. The event lost that spark it had... Oh and they kept building the Whistler course so that the jumps faced the afternoon sun, then ran events in the afternoon. Why? Blind the riders and the spectators? What? At least by cancelling the event I won't have to complain about that again this year. I'm always curious what new events in MTB...

11/15/2024 12:14pm The higher price is what gives you the warranty, you can get the item immediately, there's someone you can yell at when it doesn't work other than a nondescript Chinese Web store that really doesn't care about your problems and someone went through the trouble of trying out the quality of the supply (is the item somewhat good or really shitty). There's tons of aliexpress products that can be thrown in the bin immediately after unpacking them. You would take that product back to the store if you bought it physically and that store would make sure they had functioning...
