Yes, it is 200mm post mount on the 29" version. Still 180 on the 27.5 for some reason. But who is really buying a new 38 if you're still rocking that size after being able to get forks around 50% off for the dead end size.

The 27.5 still uses the same casting as the old 38, presumably because they don't expect many sales, and they already offer the Marzocchi line for freeriders.

that's a dumb thing to ask tho, as most brands make 203mm, sram/rock shox themselves were the ones with the Totem sporting a nice pm 203, making 183 and 203 rotors

I've converted to 200mm HS2 rotors for all my remaining Shimano brakes for performance benefits, but now I have a thousand 203mm mounts that I'm gonna have to either donate or shave 1.5mm off with the dremel....except I can't use them for Mavens because the caliper/pad touches

Would've been nice to never have 203/223mm in the first place 🙄

The 203 is a remanent of when we measured rotors in inches going back to the OG Hayes days.  203 = 8"

More pointless, but neat stuff that I haven't seen posted yet.  Wolftooth posted a new line of products, which they are calling MARKZERO.  Marketing bs aside, they seem like well made titanium bits to make both your bike and wallet lighter.  The upcharge on their XC pedals is $120 dollars for 50 grams of weight reduction.  That is some legendary weight weenie pricing to be sure.

Looking at these however, is the first time I noticed that their new ctrl-alt-del pedals have adjustable q-factor.  I hadn't noticed that before but that part is pretty cool.

A few snipes of tech rumors that I am going to steal from a few pinkbike's posts from today.  I want to be respectful of their efforts/journalism, so I am providing a link to not be a douche, sorry @sspomer if that's not cool.

Fox Live Valve neo x2, on seb's firebird from the 38 release article.  This seems like a related, but different product to the neo adjacent version that was seen on the rallon rs release.  This seems a lot more production ready and less of the bespoke, integrated system version that Orbea was leveraging.  It makes me wonder which one was the chicken and which one was the egg in that situation.

Adjustable offset dropout on Arata proto usd fork from Jesse's article about the 2026 Taipai cycle Show.  To my knowledge, this is the first adjustable offset suspension fork that uses an eccentric axle system.

There's also a remote (wireless) electronic lock out version of a Fox air shock shock in the wild, have seen it with my own eyes. Looks to function in a similar matter to what Troy B was using at Cannonball festival (beep to lock, beep again to unlock). I am pretty against batteries on bikes but this is one place where it makes sense to me.

Sram truly is the apple of cycling, only not as good as apple is in tech. Everyone else makes 203mm/8 inch rotors, but we're going to make 200mm because we can and because we're different. Honestly it's only really an issue because the is mount also died on frames and forks in favor of direct post mount.

Quick, I need someone to determine the exact phone she has from its outline in her pocket.

200mm post mount makes sense because then you can accommodate 200mm or 203 rotors with just a couple of washers.

Just visited my parent’s house and I’m going home with some early 2000’s MountainBike Action copies. Looking forward to the 2005 buyers guide and early day gearbox ideas. Print is fun.

I found a known value that's easy to measure, the rear brake rotor. I set it to 203mm (as mentioned in a bike check from my memory)
image 637.png?VersionId=NK259MoO
16.2cm = 6.377 inch, rounded up however the app used rounds things and also not a perfect angle.
Closest match for phone size would be a Iphone 16/17 pro max at 16.3 cm  or a google pixel 9/10 at 6.3 inches.

I'm going to go with the iphone 16/17 pro max. I should touch grass. I'm also either going to get disliked into oblivion or possibly have my comment deleted for posting rubbish in tech rumours.

(edited because I'm an idiot and used the diagonal measurements available from apple for my conclusion accidentally, i did say I was an idiot so)

I’ve actually noticed the same thing before too. Maybe the tighter kits just make it visible easier, but it’s funny seeing pro atheletes competing at the highest level with a giant phone crammed into their tiny pocket.

Going from this instagram post - https://www.instagram.com/reel/DUWtTSCko0O/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== I'd say its a desert titanium iPhone 16 Pro Max. I'd agree its a Pro Max and not a standard Pro given the percentage of the rear that the camera bump takes up (see https://img-prd-pim.poorvika.com/cdn-cgi/image/width=500,height=500,quality=75/product/Apple-iphone-16-pro-max-desert-titanium-256gb-Back-Side-View.png) Also appears to be using an Apple clear case given the MagSafe ring.image 640

Maybe they're running a tracking app showing their progress over the run?

Can’t say I’ve ever paid attention to this. I can understand having it with you during practice for various reasons.
