11 hours ago If you have enough room stick something like a business card between the rotor and each pad before tightening. I bought one of these and it worked great for a while and then bent, only $12 ~ https://hayesbicycle.com/products/feelr-gauge

4/14/2026 6:25pm Have sidekick on my dh rig and onyx in my trail bike. Sidekick is very quiet. You can hear it on a stand but not on a trail. Same ride experience sound wise imo. New sidekick pro is quite a bit lighter than the onyx vesper. Think it might be time to make the switch in the trail bike. They also roll even faster than the onyx.

4/14/2026 11:32am I have to admit, the new Sidekick hub has me really interested. Looks like they made a lot of tangible improvements. I wish they had included a sound clip of the hub coasting. Onyx hubs have spoiled me over the years.

4/13/2026 9:35am It seems it’s mostly just battery size affecting weigh. If the manufacturers just had more options on what battery you could use for what kind of riding you were doing. I’d love a 300wh battery that can be swapped for a 700wt battery on big days. I’d rather use the 43lb bike for my everyday rides. Only use a big battery if I have to . That new Atherton with battery options and the round down tube with long travel, that’s my dream bike.

4/11/2026 1:54pm There are three guarantees in life: death, taxes, and the internet being absolutely certain that every new e-bike motor release is going to end in disaster. I like to think my view of the world is pretty empirical and observational. So with that in mind, can anyone point me to actual examples of trail closures caused by e-MTBs? We’ve obviously seen issues with SurRons, but my brief Google search and AI-assisted digging turned up basically nothing beyond trails being opened to e-bikes. I cannot find evidence of trail networks being closed to mountain bikes because e-MTB use has meaningfully increased...

4/11/2026 12:23pm I guess that 200 less W didnt outweigh losing 100Wh for most manufactures. Interesting that the Atherton only comes with the 700 and Crestline offers all 3 batteries in the RH3 & 4.

4/11/2026 8:48am Can anyone confirm that is you are not using the Avinox 700W battery that the max watts is 1300 and not 1500? I have seen it mentioned a few times.

3/19/2026 1:34pm Just got this from Knolly: A Message from Noel Buckley I'm going to keep this simple because you deserve that. The last few years have been the hardest this industry has ever seen, and Knolly has not been immune. But we have been fighting through it: restructuring costs, tightening operations, and doing the difficult work of right-sizing the business to match a new reality. We were making progress. That progress was cut short. Our bank, RBC, has made the decision to call in our account. This comes at a time when RBC is posting record annual profits, $20.4 billion last...

2/25/2026 3:40pm RAAW addressed this issue by using modular dropouts. They first did it with their Yalla DH bike which has now trickled down to their Madonna v3.2. This is what the DH industry might head towards to accommodate UDH. Also can we take a moment to drool over how the black and silver SRAM design works with the RAAW frames 🤤

2/25/2026 3:35pm On Vital no one is going to understand the use case for that Levo R, but greater than 50% of the buyers (totally made up percent) are middle aged men that cruise some very mellow trails, and it makes perfect sense for them.
