I wonder why so many people reference WB and the World Cups here. This is not a zero sum game. We are getting excellent World Cup racing, new Hardline tracks and now this series with huge prize money.
If you don't see the value in paying to watch World Cups, don't. If Hardline ain't your thing, then avoid it. And if this new series also annoys you, how about you don't pay to watch and leave it at that?
From my point of view, I pay to watch World Cups and love it. I tune into every hardline either live or ASAP after and I will pay to watch this event. The racers benefit from all the views and engagement no matter what people think. The eternal internet negativity is tiresome.

We love the World Cup series! This event is genuinely not intended to compete with this or any other event series. We have plans to add a New Zealand event in 2028, and a third southern hemisphere event to follow. Ultimately this will be a 3 round ‘off season’ series where riders have an opportunity to race year round and earn top prize money. This also gives fans an opportunity for more year round race coverage and broadcast.

Maydena has the hill (it's 820m top to bottom) and the trails. But the town is too isolated to host an actual WC race.

To be honest, World Cup isn’t on our radar- we’d rather do things our own way. In saying that, as others have said, we don’t have the accommodation to support a traditional World Cup event.
The smaller Beyond Gravity athlete group allows us to bring in the fastest of athletes, while looking after the athletes well on all fronts. This also ensures our broadcast can properly showcase each athlete.
