Hello Vital MTB Visitor,
We’re conducting a survey and would appreciate your input. Your answers will help Vital and the MTB industry better understand what riders like you want. Survey results will be used to recognize top brands. Make your voice heard!
Five lucky people will be selected at random to win a Vital MTB t-shirt.
Thanks in advance,
The Vital MTB Crew
I'd doubt it's a weight.. That would be adding unsprung weight which is typically what they try to reduce.. Maybe a tracking or timing sensor the team is using as part of data acquisition?
The center row of knobs is pretty much the current Rekon. The side knob are slightly different.
pardon my french but how fucking stupid are the people running strava?
He had it up for £5,500 earlier in the week 🤣
Full time Strawankers
Looks like a new Ardent Race
My guess is HBS MBAs with 26.2 bumper stickers on their brodozers.
"brodozer" LOL that term needs to find a home in mountain biking vocabulary!
there's enough mtb'ers driving brodozers that i'd rather not make it worse. i've started referring to it as "automotive cosplay"
Brodozers and 26.2 stickers are generally not what I'm used to seeing together.. Prius, Camary, Accord and other smaller cars are usually where I see the 26.2 sticker..
just accidentally closed my phone before saving it to post but saw the non production (yet) Hope 40 crowns that are split clamps. All upgrades for feel in the moto world include split clamps. Any reason its not more popular in DH?
DEATH TO ALL HEAT MAPS
Tbh I tried to send some feedback to Strava in 2012,in an effort to make it more useful for MTB. Since then I've only seen it going the other direction, catering to road etc, which is fine,I'm just not the target customer.
Last year's API shenanigans made me try and export all my data so I can delete Strava, now I'm finally reminded to follow through before they go bust haha.
As far as I understand it is that Split crown clamp affect less smoothness in right side up forks like Boxxer & 40 than inverted forks that are ubiquitous in Moto/MX.
On moto you have a bushing that slides past the clamp during travel. The split clamp keeps the tube profile more consistent under load so the bushing moves through it better.
That’s not the case with an MTB fork.
appreciate the feedback and explanation!
@jeff.brines is making an alternative that should cater to MTB a lot better. Also, have you thought about selfhosting?

I like "emotional support vehicle".
Regular Car Reviews once referred to them as "men's rights trucks".
why? spent a month in Canada this summer and the best trails I rode and spent time brushing/clearing deadfall from weren't on any other map
You didn’t get this from me.

Who? What? I see nothing
RAD!
I call them Big Stupid Trucks.
So is that mythical fork a single crown 40? Takes me back to the slalom version of the DHO. I've got a few of those. I used to know people at Rock Shox when they were still in Santa Cruz. Our team at Another Bike Shop got our OG Boxxers before the sponsored riders did. Sorry Peaty.
New 38
Is it just me or does the rebound knob cover/assembly look long?
Its just excited.
