I’ve been riding in these pads exclusively for over a year, and I highly recommend them! They are very comfortable, stay in place well, are durable and easy to maintain, and offer a significant amount of protection for its level 1 cert. No pad is perfect and after a year+ the foam ring on one of my pads has a break in it at the low point over my shin (this is sown in and not replaceable). Although the D3O pad is well formed, I have had days where the bottom edge of the pad has dug into and irritated...

I'm a pretty big fan of my Akta knee pads. I'd say they are some of the comfiest, even while pedalling, while still having solid protection that I've had over the last 20 years of riding https://aktamtb.com/products/trail-mtb-knee-pads

I have a set of Ibis carbon rims. I cracked the rear rim this past spring after 3.5 seasons of pushing them hard. Ibis replaced the rim without hesitation. I'm quite happy with how they ride, the reliability, and the support. I wouldn't hesitate buying them again.

Tell me more about the custom mud guard? My stock mud guard went missing one day.

I have definitely not solved arm pump, but I have found bigger, more powerful brakes has been the biggest help equipment wise. I'm running Hayes Dominions with 220mm rotors and this year and I get a lot less arm fatigue as I don't have to pull very hard on the brake to get power (this brake setup is almost overkill... almost). Compared to stock Code RSCs with 200mm rotors, the difference is huge. The heat management, power, and ease of lever pull are all great on this setup. Compliant bars seem to help as well. In terms of physical solutions...

the R accusation is no trivial matter. My brothers roommate had his life ruined over one (he was never charged with anything). On one hand I can see companies just not wanting to deal with any drama at all, too much of a headache, or if they are willing to cut him maybe they are aware of some serious meat to the accusation. I used to be of the opinion "lets not pass judgement until there is a conviction in a court of law" but lately I haven't had much faith in the (US) legal system.

A lot of frame manufacturers claim certain travel numbers for their frames that are not accurate. Marketing guys like to use travel amount to categorize frames as something they’re not. Specialized Enduro frames have significantly more travel than advertised to make consumers believe it pedals like a trail bike.

We all run different tires and pressures front to back, why not different rims. I think this is the concept that Crank Bros Synth wheels are trying to achieve. Durability, compliance, or pinch flat resistance. Pick 2, and buy an insert. Lol

The frame at 5:04 (near the end) looks awfully suspicious to me! Could it be their new 650b frame that is poised for launch on April 1st, or just a mock-up for some future product? Either way the frame looks very refined, and it is not a frame that is in their current product line.
