German website mtb-news.de postet about the new YT development team today and there is some mysterious blacked out suspension on some of the bikes. Ich you look closely you can see it's not only the fork but also the shock. Any ideas what it might be?

Bike on the left, fork and damper.

Your URL hackery is weak, son.I have no single idea what the shock could be. Fast? Chickadee? A non-shit x-fusion?

Rear shock looks a lot like a fast with different anno. Those fork lowers look super familiar too, but I can't place it.

Fork lowers look very similar to Ohlins to me, especially the dual pinch bolt setup and overall design.

Good eyes. DH fork could get the next updates given the m3 launch of the rfx36 earlier this year

I looked at ohlins thinking that it might be it, but I thought the arch was different! Good catch

Almost certain that isn't an Ohlins. The crown machining and shape don't match. There are no negative surface cuts at the arch or the axle like an Ohlins. Look at the top caps/adjusters. Nothing looks similar to anything from the major players. Potentially a new lower casting, maybe a new fork from FAST?

More details on Reverb AXS - https://www.vitalmtb.com/news/press-release/all-new-rockshox-reverb-axs-dropper-post

Highlights
- Wireless, integrates with AXS ecosystem
- New 'air-over-air' design
- New 'ActiveRide' built-in compliance
- Two-bolt saddle clamp for round/oval rails
- Uses same AXS battery, charger, and controller
- Travel options: 100mm, 125mm, 150mm, 175mm, 200mm, 225mm, and 250mm
- Seatpost diameter: 30.9mm, 31.6mm, 34.9mm
- MSRP: $ 549 // € 600* // £ 535* // AU$ 945* (*includes VAT)

I've only got 3 rides in on the post ~5hrs ride time. It works great, as it should at the beginning of its life. A few things that have stood out:
- I was reminded how fast the post extends compared to cable droppers. Feels like a pro or con depending on how often you like riding at half-mast, as it can be tough to not get punched by your saddle when trying to stop it from extending.
- There is zero side-to-side play.
- I ride flats with my feet tight to my cranks and my legs are size medium-large knee pad. The inside of my knee/thigh have occasionally bumped the new battery location. Not really an issue, but something that didn't happen with the previous Reverb
- The 'ActiveRide' feature, where the post has ~10mm of travel when not fully extended, has been useless on an acoustic bike. Not that it's bad, I've just not had a use for it. I played around with pedaling a flat dirt road with the post halfway up (or down?) and it did add some comfort. About as much comfort as you get going from riding with your shock locked out to open. It made me wish there was a way to engage the feature with the post fully extended, such as holding the controller longer. I think I'd use that for chattery, fast climbs when you want a little bit more cushion but need to get full pedal strokes.
- It's still expensive, but it is cheaper than before. The obvious benefits for me are that it cleans up your cockpit, it's easy to install, and you don't have a cable or housing that wears out over time/needs replacing every so often. However, I still think I'd buy a cheaper mechanical dropper and save my money for other components. You know, like one of those 3D printed Specialized saddles Wink

C’mon!  They went for it on taking the ActiveRide joke and they get no love for it??  Disappoint.

Saw the new XTR wireless in person on a bike. Rdr is a lot bigger than cabled, maybe even a tad bigger than transmission. Looks sleek tho.

Shifter is also bigger than the sram pods, ergonomics like a normal cable shifter.

I did find it odd that the article said what is he going to choose for his big bike, patrol or spire, and then seeing the TR11 refresh.

Fast are indeed working on a fork, but it's a single crown, you can see it here :

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/h-dMzSac5zM (it's a short video of a project which goal is to do a French bike, either with made in France products or, as the Rockrider frame implies, designed in France parts).

Does not mean that there isn't a downhill fork in development though. Fast is a small brand (I don't know now, but a few years ago it was a one man brand, the dude on the left in the video), so they're most likely using generic lowers for now, their strength is the internals.

I think it's fair to say that any and all illusion that this is a bicycle is now gone.

Got to give it to them, Specialized know their market! They are purely catering to the rich old guy here, the kind that always buy the latest S-Works Levo and get secretly frustrated when they’re on the trails and the friendly blue collar guy rocks up on his comp or expert and reminds him that he has pretty much the same bike for nearly half the price. Mr superior works will be please that now he can really set himself apart from the plebs.

I think it's great to have options. Similar to having a base model sports car and a ludicrous model with 900 horse power. If I had $15000 to spend on a freakin bicycle, I certainly would.

Could the YT mystery suspension be the new RST? Looks at least a new dual crown is on the way

No pinch bolt, so seems unlikely?

I think it’s a Float X Genie, as opposed to the Float Genie which is an inline shock.

Yeah it is most likely the same shock that is already on the latest version of the Turbo Levo SL. Spec sheet of those bikes say "FOX FLOAT X Factory with Specialized GENIE Shock Tech"

Its been out for a bit

Where does RST keep coming out of? They seem to pop up every 7-8 years trying to break into into the high end market again. Are they bigger in Asia or are they a manufacturer for other brands and keep taking swings with their own line?

Newsflash: not everyone can afford/needs kashima and 6377364 knobs in their suspension.

I always assumed they were kinda like SR Suntour and made parts for others primarily.

It seems like with all these alternative suspension companies (not Fox/Rockshox and maybe now Ohlins) there success is tied to how easy it is to get replacement parts and talk to someone internal directly to answer questions.

If a non-mainstream company could have their whole parts inventory easily accessible and always in stock and answer emails quickly, I think they could do well if the product worked even decent and there costs were reasonable.
