This could be awesome, I wonder if it’ll have the adjustability of their other bikes, and I wonder if the rear travel will change? 140 rear travel although a small change would make it an even more capable all rounder.

5mm

like less than 1/8"

Theres no way youre feeling 5mm of rear travel difference, give yer head a shake

Well… it Looks like Raww need to shake their darn head!

All jokes aside, the bike looks great.

The bike looks great!

You still wont notice the extra 5mm travel at the rear, its just a byproduct of changing the suspension kinematics (and then a "FAB") for the product sell sheet.

I'm not trying to be a dick (it just happens naturallySmile   but we aren't that finely tuned to notice 5mm of rear travel (its .3%).  Our height changes more than that over the course of a day, the difference in your leg length is prolly more than 5mm.

I've got a Fugitive here, and a 50, 52.5, and 55 rear shocks, so travel ranges from 120ish to 140ish.  I'll put 6 beers on you not being able to tell them apart, and those would be 10mm travel differences.  If youre ever up this way, let me know, we can test all day, I'll even buy lunch.

Counterpoint, why be bothered by it, let these companies innovate and build whatever they heck they want.  The market will decide if its a "good" idea or not.

I'm not to fussed with electronic shifting of suspension, but I see how it could be amazing.

What I would like to see is a dropper that drops automatically, so I dont have to weight it.  I want that tech to mature into something reliable.

I think it may be useful to some but I don’t think the average consumer would touch it.

Is this a new Process from Kona?! Looks like an X but different rocker and slimmer around the ST/TT junction, maybe?

Looks interesting. Bummed Kona isn’t going to HP. I was in their HQ the other day, super cool dudes.

I think it's fine as long as you can still get the top tier products without being forced to buy an AI, micro nuclear reactor powered, LTE 6G connected version of the component just to get the latest bit of the tech that actually matters.

I like gadgets and tech but I can see definitely see this becoming an issue; I don't think we're far away from a world where suspension (and bikes) are optimized for electronic control.

E.g. if you have electronically controlled damping you don't have design your suspension to be good at climbing/pedaling and descending; you can optimize for descending and let the electronics handle the climbing settings.

If you want that performance then you're gonna have to buy the AI, micro nuclear reactor powered, LTE 6G connected version.

Tech has gone too far…

sounds like we will go full circle, same as in the automotive industry as that the manual will be for enthusiast who want a more engaging ride/drive Smile

can't wait to see people on their ebike suv's with autoshifting :D

Beat me to it. Cami is a Fox athlete, strange she doesn’t recognize it. Also, the reservoir looks a bit longer than the usual, no?

It looks just  like a DHX. He might be trying different tunes for Fox. Or might be trying something custom (Avalanche or the likes).

He responded and said it's a dhx.

He got asked why not a dhx 2 and Neko said he liked the numbers they were getting with the dhx tuned for the bike.

All that makes sense to me, if the shock is tuned for the rider/ bike combo there is less need for the extra adjustment of the x2.

Maxxis has a guy who just eyeballs tire widths anyway…cracks me up with “2.40,” as in between 2.39 and 2.41…

My best guess is that used to be Maxxis’s traditional sizing from the 26” days. It was 2.35,2.5,2.7. So, everyone is stoked on the one tenth of an inch bigger because it’s what we all used to know and be comforted by.

Just got an email from Cane Creek about a new product reveal at 9 AM tomorrow.  Looks like a new USD fork.  May have to try it but it will take a lot to make me like it over my Trust Message.  Love that fork!

I saw a teaser page somewhere the other day and there was a shot of a gravel rider... Not exactly holding my breath that it's an MTB product

Throw in some Burgtec "Kash Bronze" components and you're golden.

Add in the Gold TRP Levers/Calipers and you've got another mismatch lol.

The 2.5" DHR2 has been around the race pits for years as a pro-only tire, so it's exciting to see it finally released to mere mortals like us. The 2.4 DHR is a noticeably smaller casing than any of Maxxis 2.5 tires, which makes it kind of a weird match when you're running one of each. I'm running a 2.5 Assegai up front and a 2.4" DHR2 in the back, so I'd totally buy a 2.5" DHR2 when mine wears out. Of course it doesn't matter much, it's 0.1", but I'm a fanboy and I'd rather have the bigger volume tire in the back. Thus the humor when I said "This is the biggest tech news in MTB for the whole year." Very much inside baseball.

Nooo! leave flat mount brakes to the roadies. I suppose I already have my cut down 5mm allen wrench that's worthless for anything else. But come on, just don't do it.

Probably a gravel fork for the drop bar 90s mtb revival

My experience has been that 2.4 WT and 2.6 WT have the same sized tread blocks, just spaced differently, so I assume 2.5 would fit in the middle?

I bought a 2.3 because 2.4 WT was out of stock recently and the tread blocks are noticeably smaller, so it might depend whether the 2.5 is WT.

Reply from Neko to Cam.

The DHX has a larger shaft size so can effect ride feel. Frameworks most is most likely on a custom tune, so the limited HSC/HSR adjusters probably aren’t a big deal.

Nope. There hasn't been any evolution in road cycling since they switched to disc brakes...as for gravel well that's just old school mtb.
